Hey man!!! yeah geeez it is so crazy its all coming to an end man!!! seriously i don’t even know what to think hahahaha!! I’m excited to come home for sure but like idk man I just know its going to be super different and i will never be the same after serving 2 years in Africa! It has been quite the experience!!! As I look back on my mission I just come to realize that through the ups and downs the only things that I remember are the good parts! There have been times I haven’t been super obedient others I’ve been crazy obedient and what I have come to realize is that it doesn’t matter what happens the most important is that you are constantly making small tweaks in your life to change and be better day by day week by week month by month and year by year! I look back on the start of my mission compared to know and i just see the amazing things the lord has blessed me with and truly the man he has forged in the fiery furnace of Africa hahahaha it has been tough but sooooooo worth it and I wouldn’t give anything to change this time I’ve given to the lord in his service for these last two years! i know who he really is now and i cant even imagine what it was like to be perfect in a world of so much imperfection and just the immense trust he has in us imperfect beings. That’s just goers to show how much more trust we need to have in HIM! Gosh a freaking can’t wait to come home and see you guys!!! The only thing is knowing Ben won’t be there. It seriously is killing me! Man like I miss him so much dude! But its okay you guys will be there to help me!!!! The great thing is when he comes home we are gonna have SO much in common!!!!! My lil chunker hahahahaha!!!! Well I just love you so much dad!!!! Have an awesome week!!!
hey mom!!!! seriously though hahahahah i am feeling so many emotions at the moment it is insane!!!! i have grown to love these people and the people i have served side by side with these past few years seriously it has been amazing the past two years i see why it is the best two years!!!!! i understand be cause i lived it and i endured it!!! thats all the lord wants us to do is to live and endure this life so we can understand as he understands and that way we will be capable to have all that he has! seriously as i look back on my mission i just see how fast it has gone and I’m sure that is how the lord felt on the cross looking back on his life seeing all he went through feeling all the pains a mortal man could feel and then saying it is finished into thy presence I commend myself!!! I just see with the simple mortal intelligence i have the great joy he felt in that moment knowing all the pain heart ache and stress will all be over and that he will finally be able to continue with the next part of his life as a God. I too in a since am commending myself now into your guys presence in just a few short day and how freaking great is my joy!!!!!!!! my work is finished!!! I have all the tools now to get me through the rest of my life!!!!!! gosh i seriously cant wait to get out of the plan and walk down that elevator to finally embraced you guys!!!! 2 years may be long but it has FLOWN by!!!!!!!! seriously it is insane!!!!!! i just love you sooo much and cannot wait to see you guys!!!!
I got transferred back to Toit Rouge. I’m with another missionary from Nigeria who the Mission President wants me to train to be a leader. His name is Elder Nsing. He’s super cool and I love the guy.
Our secteur got white washed we know no one and the members are not very active in missionary work besides the DMP but he has been busy all week and there was problems at the apartment that people had to come fix and then the days we went to the secteur the people we talked to weren’t interested and just wasted our time hahahahahah I just hope we can find the investigators. The other missionaries were teaching so they don’t get lost hahahah but its aight the Lord is in control! It doesn’t help that I’m super exhausted as well I have no desire to go to secteur anymore its bad, but I’m forcing myself so that my comp doesn’t get discouraged! We’re going to work hard these last few weeks together. Hard to believe I come home in 14 days. Crazy! I miss you guys like crazy and can’t wait to see you!
The ties I bought from Ghana soooooo nice!!!!!!!! except the dumb dude jacked 3 ties and said i had to pay 10000fc more for the other 3 cuz there was a “change in the exchange rate” which is just not true i knew the guy was gonna do something to get money out of it so i just left the other three and took the 20 cuz still 20 at 66000fc is better than 100000fc so I’m pretty happy still! i was gonna buy another pagne to have some ties and shirts get made but it was kinda expensive since i just pulled out a lot for those other ties i felt guilty taking out more hahahahahahahaha but it’s alright maybe I’ll find it again!
It was SOOOO great meeting with Elder Christofferson! He’s so full of the spirit! He allowed us to ask him questions. It was really funny because the nature of the questions he responded that “it’s great to see the restoration is continuing in our day.” It was funny. Really referring to the fact that the church is so new in Africa. It was so awesome how he answered the questions. It was like the Savior was responding to us. The spirit was so strong. I know he is an apostle of God with NO doubt in my mind!! It was so remarkable! He’s just so intelligent and inspired. I just love him! Well I hope you enjoy these photos. I love you all! I’m doing great!!! I’m so excited because Elder Christofferson comes the 31st so it’s not for a few weeks! I’m so excited for it man!!!!!! It is gonna be so awesome!!!! We are going to be combined with the other mission so I will see all my buddies!!!! I’m stoked!!! The week was great we killed it this last week taught over 20 lessons and found like 9 new investigators it was so tiring but so awesome and so rewarding!!! We also set 3 baptismal dates so that is super exciting they just gotta keep coming to church. One of them is family bokés daughter and the other is seriously the cutest 9 yr old she is so brilliant. Like she literally understands our message better than like half our investigators I’ve ever had hahahaha like just golden investigators left and right man!!!!! and it’s all cuz of the work we have been putting forth. You didn’t know this but for these past few months I have kept my music and just been listening to it every once in a while but monday I just took the decision to erase it all and then we had this killer week and it was just so amazing to see that even this whole time I haven’t been that obedient the lord was always there to bless me for the small efforts I was doing! Like seriously I can’t thank our father in heaven more and just seeing these blessings continue to fall from heaven and I know it is because of my obedience!!!! It’s so incredible!!!!! but yeah don’t worry man we are gonna do the cut this week and just focus on finding even more and the ones we just found we are gonna keep going with them and we will cut them if they don’t progress it is just a little system hahahah!!! I saw Alban’s wife this last week she’s sooo nice!!! I will have dinner at her place soon idkl when she said she would plan it and call me! Also, I got those shoes from Alban!!! They rock!!!!! Wore them to sports this morning, and it was perfect cuz I got terrible blisters two weeks ago!!!!! I can’t believe that I was the first one here to africa and now all these people are coming it will be so cool to connect with them all after they finish!!!! Pray that we can get fr eric fr ignace and sr charlotte to come to church so they can be baptised too!!!! Also that we can get sr therèse to stop sleeping with her boy friend so she can get baptised!!! Well that’s it!! Have a great week!! Love you soooo much!!!!!!
My little best friend James. This kid seriously comes running to give me a hug every time we visit! He also never leaves my side! In the photo he was wiping the sweat off my face for me he is seriously the cutest i think i might just take him home with me:!!!! That’s his twin sister who’s in the other photo. There is also a photo of the bridge we cross everyday that’s over like this 30 ft crater hole thing that’s like a mini canyon of trash and sewer water hahahaha It’s pretty nasty! It reminds me of the river in Lehi’s dream hahahahahahahahaha!!!!
Frère et soeur Boké got baptized!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! soooo stoked for that you will be amazed by the story I’ll tell you all in video chat!! It was amazing! This experience teaching them was the most spiritual experience on my mission. He was golden from the very beginning. She struggled and didn’t want to be baptized because she felt like she had already been baptized and didn’t need it. I shared with her the fact that Jesus came to John the Baptist because he had the authority. I testified that that authority has been restored on earth again. She has poor eyesight and hearing, and my companion and I felt like we should give her a blessing. We asked her and she agreed. My companion gave the blessing and it was beautiful! At the end she jumped up and said, I want to be baptized!!! After weeks of saying no she finally felt the spirit and the baptism was amazing!!
Someone was trying to break into the bishops office lololol faillll!!!! I guess it was time for a new badge after the church’s name was erased and it broke in half hahahahahahaha!!!!
Hey Family!!!!!! Had a great week!!!!!!! A little crazy with a zone conference and splits with elders given there was just transfers so that was a little hectic!!! Had some psycho dude we met I will tell you about it over web chat! But yeah it was great family Boké came to church Sunday with his two daughters they were busy this week but made it to church i was sooo happy!!! Also this other guy fr christian came. He has been a investigator for years he wants to be married but his father in law is super against their marriage and its rough but he’s a great dude. We’ve just been visiting him to keep him encouraged cuz it ain’t easy!!! He is figuring it out that poor guy he had chicken pox a few weeks ago and the guy was just in bad shape but he’s better now but his little baby daughter is sick with it now which is sad but she’s getting better!!! But yeah we also have some others we visited sr charlottes father passed away this week and a lot of other investigators parents died so it was like a week of death for them so it was pretty sad but a great opportunity to teach the plan of salvation!!!!! So yeah super great week!!!! Sounds like la tienne was good as well! hahahaha It ain’t me the Lord gives me the strength!!! Its just like the strippling warriors!!!! They were strong in the faith and the teachings of their mothers!!!!! There is no way they should’ve won those battles but the Lord was with them! They got beat to heck but not one lost their life!!!!! That’s it oh!!! The mission is just that!!!! Love you sooo much!!! Have a great week!!!
