What a week! We had transfers this week and got the new missionaries that will now being serving here! I’m excited to meet the new missionaries in my district and have a fun new transfer together! Also crazy miracles this week with fixing a date for Baptism for our ami Mana and they’ll be getting married the same day! So super excited!! A huge miracle! Sadly I will probably get transferred before but it’s not about me and I’m so excited for him!!
Now for some other Highlights from this week:
– Had a “exchange”(Using quotes because it wasn’t actually one) with Elder Jefferies because his companion Elder Chadaz finished his mission and so he left before transfers so he got to tag along with us for 2 days and it was great!
– Had my first District Leader call with the others in my zone with our STLs(Sister Training Leaders) and our DZ(Zone Leaders) and it was great! We all fixed great goals and how we can help our zone to have a great new transfer!
– Invited 2 of our amis this week to get baptized and only one said yes and waiting for the other to give a response but it was amazing! The spirit was so strong and it was such a great experience to see our ami progressing so well!
– Sœur Alexandrine Leclercq is back from Japon and it was great to see her again! She’s one of my favorite members and she’s just the sweetest! So it was great to see her again!
– We had 6 of our amis at church and it was amazing! We didn’t have all 10 from last week but it was still more than we were expecting to come so that was a miracle!
That’s about it from this last week but it’s crazy how fast time is flying by!! I just want to end with the Prophet’s words in his last talk he gave, “Come unto Christ and “offer your whole [soul]” to Him. This is the secret to a life of joy!” Christ is our JOY! Turn to Him! He’s the only answer to true Eternal JOY! We may feel alone and as if we can’t go further but it’s true we can’t unless we have the Savior by our side and then truly we go further than ever thought before! I love you all SO MUCH!!!! And miss you all like crazy!!! Till next week! Beaucoup d’amour! Ua here au ia outou! Faaitoito!💙
Transfers!! This week was full of so much fun! It was extremely hot this week as well hahaha but anyways I’ll jump to the point and give some points from last week!
– Transfers! I got a new comp! His name is Elder Nelson and he is a wide receiver for BYU! He’s a stud and we are brothers now! President Trythall put us together because we are the 2 boldest Missionaries in the mission and so we are just going around telling people they need to be baptized and we’ve found over 42 people which is unheard of here in Los Aromos and we found them in a week! God is amazing! We just keep praying hard and searching for souls!
– It was extremely hot! We had some very very hot days this week that made me want to die hahah I was praying so hard I wouldn’t pass out hahah because we had to just hike up the mountain in the heat! I put FPS 50 on and I’m still getting so dark! I now feel like I’m really a true Santana now haha but anyways it was very very hot! 🥵
– Manjar soft serve! Holy cow I can’t even describe into words how glorious this ice cream was! It’s soft and heavenly! Idk if it was so good because I haven’t had soft serve in 3 months but man that was glorious! We saw people eating it and it was super hot outside and so we just took a little rest and got some amazing ice cream!
– Me and my comp met this new old lady and we’ve been teaching Her lessons, well we asked her to give the closing prayer and she finally said yes so we were listening to her prayer and she just says in the prayer “thank you for these Missionaries that bring a good spirit in my house full of evil spirits” and my comp and I look at each other and we’re like whelp we know what to do and so after she prayed I said can we leave a blessing on your house and get rid of those evil Spirits and she’s like YES PLEASE! So we did and you could feel peace in her home and it was really cool!
– Tomas! The tomas is a village in our Sector that is made made homes from people that migrated from Africa, Haiti, Venezuela, or Colombia, this is prime finding! We spent Sunday just going in there hitting a few people that have been in teaching and then just started talking to everyone! We left getting like 10-15 more people that are starting the lessons with us! Me and my comp just went to the super poor and just became their friends! Now whenever we go back all the little African kids come up to us and love us! Also me and my comp may learn some Criollo because it’s spoken a ton here!
– Girl wanted a kiss, so yeah basically we were talking to this 1 family in the tomas and this random 30-40 year old shakes my hand and starts to pull me in and says I just want a little kiss and I was like noooo and my comp was like noooooo and so I pulled back and was like sorry were Missionaries I’m very sorry but no we can’t do that hahahah it was quite weird!!!
Well this was my week! It was a blast! It went very very fast because we’ve been grinding here! I’m very excited for next week and sí o sí we will have 3 Baptisms!!! But anyways I love this work! We’ve had amazing miracles! God is amazing and is always there for each and every single one of us! If you don’t feel his love right now then maybe try tweaking your life so that you can feel his love! He’s always there to lift you up; you just have to look up to him and ask! 29 And now behold, I say unto you that the right way is to believe in Christ, and deny him not; and Christ is the Holy One of Israel; wherefore ye must bow down before him, and worship him with all your might, mind, and strength, and your whole soul; and if ye do this ye shall in nowise be cast out.
I love yall so much! Have an amazing week and I’ll talk in a week! ❤️❤️❤️🫡🦙🇨🇱🐕🌶🤙
I can’t believe it’s already preparation day! Every week just blurs together!!!! Anyways it was a blast and had some fun days!! Here’s some points from last week!
– Ants in my food! This was fun hahaha we went to this super poor guy’s house which he doesn’t have anything because a fire came through and burned his house down which is extremely sad! He then made us lunch with the scarce resources he has and I went to go take a huge bite of my bread and there was a whole village in my bread hahaha I then just tried my hardest to brush it off and just ate it because I didn’t want to decline his only food! Plus extra protein 😅😋
– Intercombios with Elder Moya! It was a fun but hard day haha I love Elder Moya but he didn’t really love to work and he made me take every conversation and lesson by myself which was great practice but it was a tiring day hahaha I was able to carry each lesson and conversation which made me happy because God is real and the gift of tongues is real as well! It was a super fun day though!
– Getting flamed by this Venezuelan dude! He didn’t like gringos and he just absolutely was going off on me hahaha I just smiled and said God bless hahah
Dogs are racist hahaha they won’t bark and the Chileans but they will barking at us gringos hahahaha
– Drugs in the street, there was this pill in the street that looked very very very sketch and looked man made hahaha I think it might’ve been a drug!
– Twister the new movie was playing in this tiny shop and I was like “No way!!!!” haha it was fun!
– Zoo animals, so everyone in the streets will point at us as we walk and will yell out that we’re gringos and white and basically are aliens and it’s kinda crazy and sometimes gets on my nerves haha but I just keep looking forward and smile! 1 group of kids were like what are you haha and we’re like we’re American and they’re like and we take a picture of you hahaha we felt like zoo animals! 🥲🦓🦒
– Met tons of new people and had a ton of people progress this week!!!!
– Found out transfers and Elder Chambers is leaving which is very very depressing! He’s sad as well but we know it’s for the best!!! Also my new companion is named Elder Nelson and he’s committed to play for BYU which is crazy! I’m excited to meet him and we’ll have a blast!
Anyways this was my week! It went fast and had a lot of new adventures! I’m excited for next week and to meet my new companion and to see the amazing miracles that happen every day!!! Love y’all and can’t wait to talk in a week!!!!
37 till CHRISTMAS!!! 🎄☃️🎅🏻🏝☀️ & 10 till Thanksgiving!!! 🥧🍗🦃🍁 SO crazy how fast time is flying by! Miracle filled week and always super sad ending with saying goodbye to Elder Chadaz, Elder Ockey, Elder Whetten(my second trainer), & Sœur Harryman!!😭 It’s so sad it’s literally all my favorite friends in the mission that are all leaving! And all those when I was a baby in the mission were all at 1 year and now I’m in there shoes and they are all finished!! Super crazy!
Now for some Highlights from this week:
– Made a Facebook video for our Facebook page and so im excited to see how it turns out! It was a short 2 minute video of our beliefs and a reel to post so well see how that goes!
– Exchange with Elder Chadaz for the last time and it was so amazing to be with him! Love him so much and he’s literally I would say one of if not my favorite missionary I’ve met on my mission! He’s just the best and its him that we found out we are 4th cousins so even cooler!
– District Tamaa(eating) together in the city at Uturoa and it was great to be with them! It was because Elder Chadaz is finishing his and so we all wanted to eat together! The food was very yummy and it was a great time spent together!
– Soirée Familiale that was great! We had 5 of our amis there and then we talked about the plan of salvation and where we were before and our lives here! It was one of the members that lead it and it was great! We then invited them all to church the next day and all of them came! We had 10 amis at church and that was the most we’ve had since I’ve gotten here! It was INCREDIBLE!!!
– Appel de Transfert!!! We had our transfer call this week and I’m staying with my companion and now I’m the new District Leader!! It’s crazy! I can’t believe I’ve been out long enough to be that and now have that responsibility! I’m super excited for this next chapter of my mission and to be able to help all these wonderful missionaries in my district and all our friends here at Raiatea!!
– Primary Program for church and it was that when we had all 10 of our amis there! It was so cute and all the children did such a great job!
– The funniest thing happened where I for the first time mixed up an English word with a French word that wasn’t good at a Faatamaraa! We were with my favorite family Tarati and we were talking about The Other Side of Heaven which is a film our church made about a mission that served on a Polynesian Island and in the first one Anne Hathaway is in it! And so I was explaining that to them and I was like she’s Catwomen, in Les Miserable, and then I was like Princess Diary! But when I said Princess Diary in French I was like La Diarrhée de la Princesse 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ In French Diary and Diarrhea sound the same and Diary isn’t how you say that in French it’s “Journal Intime” so they all bursted out laughing and I had realized what I had said being “The Diarrhea Princess”, turned absolutely bright red, and was dying of laughter with them! Definitely a core memory and so grateful that it was with them who I love so much and definitely made our relationship stronger🤣
That’s about it for this week but yeah it was crazy! Filled full of miracles, sad moments, and full of laughter! I love this work so much and more and more I realize how little time I have left! As I see these missionaries going I know I’m getting so close! As Sœur Harryman had said in her final testimony because we have a testimony meeting with the whole mission on zoom and what she said really touched and stook with me being, “My brother told me this right before the mission and I’ll tell it to you all now, Forget yourself and Live everyday like it’s your last!” She was like the mission truly flies by and live every day like it’s your last! It was great advice and exactly that! I must give my all more than ever before and I know the Savior will give me strength! He lives and thanks to His Atonement everything is possible and He is the answer to everything! Once we forget ourselves and turn to Him we grow in beautiful ways and do as the Prophet has told us to “Let Him Prevail in Our Lives”! He’s there always and loves us more than we truly can imagine! I love you all SO MUCH!!!! And miss you all like crazy!!! Till next week! Beaucoup d’amour! Ua here au ia outou! Faaitoito!💙
JOYEUX ANNIVERSAIRE BENNY! Today’s my brother’s birthday and it fell just right to be on P-day! Shout out to him my homie for life! Love you! Crazy week that I had and it flew by! Filled with surprises and wonderful miracles!
Now for some Highlights:
– Surprising split with Elder Larsen (the greenie of our DZs) and he was with us for 2 days! The DZs were in Tahiti for MLC and then had an exchange in Bora Bora after so Elder Larsen just stayed with us! It was great being with him and had a great time together!
– Blitz in our secteur! A Blitz is when all the missionaries in your district come together in another secteur and then we go contacting to help find references for them and it’s so fun to do! This time around it was for our secteur and sadly didn’t have much success but it was still a great day full of little miracles!
– Exchange with Elder Jefferies who’s in Faaroa normally and it was great to be with him! We had an exchange within an exchange! With Elder Larsen and Elder Jefferies but it all was great!
– Wonderful Faatamaraa(member meal) with the family Laufatte (the son of one of my companions)! Also Winter mā(Senior Missionary Couple) came and ate with us and it was so good! Love them and had a wonderful night together!
– Miracle lesson with one of our inactive members that’s coming back to church invited her boyfriend to a lesson so we found a new ami and it was great to meet him! We was very open and liked our message! So we’ll see what happens next!
– Ended our P-day today with a fun hike and got to see all the Islands of the Raromata’i! Or the Society Islands! But we did it as a zone! It was wonderful!
That’s about it for this week but it went by in a flash! 3 weeks till Thanksgiving and 6 till Christmas is crazy! Time is literally flying by! And it’s all my lasts right now! In a weird whirlwind of emotions when you hit your year mark because you start seeing everything you’ve done and how much more I can still experience and so it’s this beautiful time to reflect and see how I can give my all in this time that I have left! I was then reading in my personal studies and read Sister Browning talk titled, “Seeking Answers to Spiritual Questions” and it really touched me and this is a part that I loved that she said, “I testify that placing your trust in Heavenly Father and in His prophets, whom He has sent, will help you to spiritually elevate and push you forward toward God’s expanded horizon. Your vantage will change because you will change. God knows that the higher you are, the farther you can see. Our Savior invites you to make that climb.” I love that analogy of being on this climb of life and to see that the Savior wants us to all climb to see this beautiful view of the miracles and blessings in our lives! I know that when we truly expand our view and trust in this climb of life that the Savior is right by us hand in hand helping us make it to Heavenly Father again! Through our struggles and trials in life we aren’t alone and this climb may be steep and scary at times but we aren’t in it alone but have the Savior right by helping us! That’s it for this week but I love you all SO MUCH!!!! And miss you all like crazy!!! Till next week! Beaucoup d’amour! Ua here au ia outou! Faaitoito!💙
Wow how in the world is this week over 🤯🤯🤯!! Anyways it was a very fun and eventful week!!! If it’s anyone’s first time reading my weekly update welcome, pull up a chair get all comfortable because I’m about to give you the best weekly email you’ve ever heard! Anyways let’s jump strait into it!
(Read in a British accent)
The day of the Preperation: 🎣
• Now as this day began we started in the 5th quartile of Chile know as Viña Del Mar, we went and obtained a couple of items that we both very much needed such as food!
• We then made our way over to the land called Quilpué where we spent our time talking to family and playing the piano
I also forgot to mention my comp was quite ill
• After the day was over and our feet were all ached and sore we made it to the land northward and came upon a body of water with life, small paquliar little animals floating around in water that seemed more toxic than the sewage! Anyhow it was a quite pleasant day!
(OK no more British that took too much time haha)
Tuesday: 🌿
• OK this day was awesome! We had Intercombios or exchanges, we went with the ZL which was super fun! They’re super cool Missionaries! Me and Elder Qüinche had a blast! We talked to everyone and their dog and really just tried to be diligent! It was a ton of fun!
• Weed hahaha yep that’s right we went passed this home to ask if a member lived there and he said, “look, you see that over there “ And me and my como were like oh no! And he said yeah so if you could all leave that’d be great and we’re like ahh yeah, so that was fun hahahaha also the weed plant was taller than I am it was like 7’0” tall!
Wednesday: 🧉
• This day was great! It was pretty chill! I did wake up and drink an entire over 1.2 liter amount of water in a Calabaza worth if Maté and yeah that made me feel really really weird hahahah, but it was super good!
• We then had a normal day of work and just went to all of our points and lessons!
• Also we went passed the best bakery every and I decided with my extra money I’m going to buy a Berlines every day which is basically a soft doughnut with Manjar (better Dulce de Leche) in the middle!!!
• While we were in the bakery this girl thaf was probably 16 or 17 spoke English and her dad was encouring her to want tk get to know me and thwn she started getting really flirty and it got super weird and then she said can meet up and speak later and I looked to my comp and we’re like CODE RED🚨CODE RED🚨 CODE RED🚨!!! And I kindly was like no thank you and we left hahahahahaha
• Anyways so that was my fun day hahaha
Thursday:
• We had interviews with President which were super awesome! I love President Trythall! He’s a huge blessing to this mission!
• Anyways those went super good and then after we just went to work in our area and nothing too crazy happened!
Friday:
• This day was quite eventful haha it started out with house inspections with 2 elders on the office and Hermana Trythall which was super fun! They said our house was really good!
• After we got pur Imperial de Calabaza! They’re basically fancy Maté cups in a Calabaza!!!! Mine is sooo amazing and I love it!
• After we went out to work in the hottest day I have ever been in, in my life!! There was humidity heat and a strait up Villa Hermosa which was so insanely HOT! God helped us persevere but it was sooo hot!
• We then went into El Sauce (the tomas) and went to meet with a family but on our way we helped this Haitian lady with like 7 huge bags of stuff that she’d been carrying for over 5 miles and she was dying from the heat do we helped her and it made her day!!! So that made me happy!
• Anyways we ended the day with cars drying by playing all kinds of English music which was hype hahaha 1 that stood out the most was “The Final Countdown” that was super hype hahaha
• Also just to mention not a single house in this whole area has A.C. or any A.C. units, nothing! They just open windows and it’s so hot outside It doesn’t stop the heat from coming inside! In some houses it was hotter in their house hahahaha!
Anyways it was a good day!
Saturday:
• This day was pretty chill just a normal day!
• We did buy for lunch a completo and a 3 liter bottle of Kem which is a pineapple drink which is soooo good! That was probably the most exciting part of the day haha
Sunday:
• This day was great! I did have to give a 10 ish minute talk that I had to prepare just about an hour before church started which was great hahaha
At our lunch this member used to live in Canada and they couldn’t stop talking about how much they love Tacobell hahahah
• Everybody and their dog stopped what they were doing to watch soccer which was crazy! It made the work way harder but after the game was over we were able to get back to work!
• Anyways it was a pretty good day!
Well that sums up my week! I had a great time and a lot of fun things happened! I’m very excited to see the great miracles that come next week! Every week just gets A little bit better and my Spanish gets a little bit better as well! I love yall and can’t wait to connect next week!!
Wow I can’t believe it’s been a week already! Time is flying by!!!! Anyways this week was a ton of fun and full of unique experiences hahaha here’s a few points from this week!
Monday:
• Preparation day!!!! We went over an 1hr and a half to Valparaíso to get a Calabaza de Maté for only $17 which is super cheap here!!!
• While in Valpo we saw a dude get tackled to the ground and arrested and like 50 cops showed up haha (it’s also the sketchiest part of our mission)
Some dude saved my bag from being stolen and was like put it in front of you because there are thieves just waiting to steal!
• We then just went back to the Capilla and chilled, and played Futbol
Tuesday:
• This day was quite chill, not too much craziness happened, just a normal missionary day!
Wednesday:
• This day was pretty chill as well, not too much happened! We just went to work all day!
Thursday:
• This day was super fun! It started off strong with me giving a homeless super duper skinny dog a banana and it made me feel so happy!
• We then just went out to work, it was hard not to get distracted because there was American Halloween music playing everywhere and kids were all dressed up trick or treating!
• We also went to this guy’s house who owns a food Truck and he made us the best burgers ever! Sadly he’s leaving to Southern Chile for 4 months so it probably was my last time eating it!
• The day went pretty quick and we ended up finding 2 new guys that want to start taking the lessons so that’s sweet!
Friday:
• This day was awesome! We had a Zone Desayuno and me and my companion were bold with our zone because everyone has had no success because they just knock random doors and don’t try super hard to find people so my comp and I were like first off we need to work with members! Members are the most effect way to do missionary work here and so we need to do that and be diligent and work hard! After we said that the whole zone got hyped and we went to work!
After we went and found a bunch of new people through members and had a ton of success!
• Later in the day my companion breathed in a lot of pollen and he couldn’t breathe, his throat felt like it was closing up so we called Hermana Trythall and they’re like try and take an antihistamine, so luckily he had one and he took it and it started to stop which was a huge blessing!
• Anyways after that we just worked for a couple more hours and then went back to the pension!
Saturday:
• So this day was awesome! My comp told me in the morning during my study “I DID IT” I was like what are you talking about and he’s like “I FINALLY DID IT!!!” And I was so confused, he then said “I FOUND THE CALABAZAS” So to give you background there Are these Calabazas de Maté or pumpkin or gourd of Maté so basically it’s the original Maté cups and they’re normally like $80-90 here in Chile because they’re hard to find, well long story short my companion found this guy that sells the Imperial Calabazas which are decorated with leather and fine meal for $50 which are crazy cheap for them! Anyways we ended up getting them and they are shipped in 2-3 days which is super
hype!!!
• We then went and fed some tunnel spiders some earwigs and went to work the rest of the day!
Sunday:
• This day was super fun and eventful! It’s started at 12am with a 5.0 earthquake which was fun, me or my comp didn’t wake up but supposedly people woke of and it was shaking them haha
• We then went out to work and I had a Maté in 1 hand and a granola bar in the other and those 2 combos gave me energy and joy hahahahahahah but anyways we went to work and ended the day finding a super duper cool river in our Sector that has a lot of fish so we may go fishing in it which is fun!
• Anyways that was basically my day!
So these were just a few points from this Week! It was a huge blast and I’m excited for next week and to see all the amazing miracles that God will bring! Just know God always has you and he will ALWAYS take care of you! I love yall and can’t wait to talk next week!!! Nos Vemos!!! ♥️🧉
NOVEMBER ALREADY! Christmas is next MONTH!!!🎅❄️⛄️🌴🥥☀️ And then 2025 here we go for my last year in the Tahiti Papeete Mission!🥹 What a week! Had an incredible experience and then some of the hardest trials! But hey all you can do is smile and know every day gets a little better in difficult situations! Joy is a choice and we can’t control our circumstances but our attitudes! So I chose to have JOY! Well I tried my hardest!😅
Now for some Highlights from this week:
– THE HAWAIKI NUI!!!! It was so INCREDIBLE! So the Hawaiki Nui is a once a year huge boat race from all the islands of the Raromata’i/Society islands being Huahine, Raiatea, Tahaa, and then to Bora Bora! It’s a crazy race! And so we did a service project and got to carry all the outrigger(va’a/pirogue) boats out of the water and put them on the shore! It was crazy but so amazing! We got shirts and a hat and gotta wear it all day because it was a dress code and to show the sponsors and we were doing a service project so it worked out! The shirts are sick! Then I got to see one of my favorite families from Fautaua (my last secteur) Teamo mā ! So that was amazing!
– HAPPY HALLOWEEN !🎃 👻🧙🏻♂️☠️ We had a ward primary Halloween trunk or treat activity! It was so fun and we had 3 of our amis there and it was great! We did the Candy Pong and it was our stand that we ran and we had such a good time being with them all! So we got a little special Halloween experience! My last and first one out here in Tahiti!
– CRAZY SUNBURN!🥵😵 So not really a highlight but yeah from the Hawaiki Nui I forgot to put sunscreen on my neck/chest area and put it everywhere else just not there! It took all the sun and it was so painful! It blistered horribly and I had a huge blister on my neck! I then called our mission nurse and went to the doctor and got this French medicine Flamazine and it completely healed the blister in 2 days! It was a miracle! Also received a blessing from my companion and that more than anything I know healed me! Huge miracle! But I couldn’t wear my tie because we didn’t want the blister to pop and so that was quite funny to see so many be like where’s your tie and then they saw me all bandaged up and were like oh! So yeah crazy!
– Had a Stake Conference this weekend and it was great! We had wonderful speakers and the spirit was so strong!
– Found out I’m cousins with Elder Chadaz!! He’s my 4th cousin! That’s the closest I’ve found on the mission so yeah pretty dope! It makes sense we are the closest to each other here so it’s because we are cousins!😂
That’s about it for this week! But yeah it was crazy but I was able to find Joy through the hard moments! The Lord is always there for me and even during hard moments He’ll always make them better if we turn to Him! He’s the only source of Joy in this world full of turmoil! Miracles are everywhere and when we have the eyes to see it wow it’s beautiful! That’s it for this week but I love you all SO MUCH!!!! And miss you all like crazy!!! Till next week! Beaucoup d’amour! Ua here au ia outou! Faaitoito!💙
Wow it’s crazy that it was another super fast week yet again! I’m loving it here in Chile and it’s starting to become home! With a daily cup of Maté and Poncho will do the trick!! Anyways, here are a few points from this week!
Monday:
My preparation day was a blast! We went to the boardwalk in Viña and got empanadas and tequeños!!
I got some groceries from a humongous grocery store called Jumbo!! I also got Chalulah the hot sauce (i dont know how to spell it haha) which was so awesome!!
And lastly we ended the day at La Familia Lopez! We had 4 completos at their house which were insanely good!!!
Tuesday:
We had the usual District Council which was fun!
I had a 3-4 inch bone in my soup so that was nice! 😅
The weather was super nice and cool that day! It felt like Washington weather again!
Anyways it was a super fast day with not a ton of stuff happening haha
Wednesday:
This day was also a super fast day! I don’t remember much because it all felt like a blur!!!
We had a bunch of lessons and I had to share a ton in Spanish and the members and my companion said my Spanish is doing super good and that I’m learning fast which made me feel really good!!! God is helping me a ton!
Anyways not too much happened!
Thursday:
This day was a blast!!! We had intercambios or exchanges with an Elder that only spoke Spanish! It was super awesome practice! He could understand me the whole time which was super cool! I was in Charge of the sector because my companion was on exchanges somewhere else so it was a super cool experience!
I extended my first invitation to 2 families to be baptized and they both said they want to and will pray about It so we need to pray for them!!
I miss heard a lady say that her husband is dead and I thought she said her husband joined the church a year ago so I said “sweet”! And she got pretty upset hahaha
Anyways it was a super duper fun day!
Friday:
It was a pretty fast day! I got together with my companion again and we just went to work! They day just flew bye and no much happened!
Saturday:
So Saturday was an interesting day hahaha
We went to the church building to text members and inactive members, and friends in teaching to come to church on Sunday and all I remember was waking up and it was like an hour later! I had no idea but I guess I just fell asleep, my companion was giving lesson 3 to this person on the phone so I guess I just dozed off hahah I felt super bad but at the same time it was sooo needed hahahah
As we were leaving the building this drunk guy called us over and started yapping and we were like we gotta go and the dude grabbed my hand and wouldn’t let go so then I had to force bend his hand back so he would let go and then we just walked away, we’ve seen him a couple times since and he has no clue about that day hahahaha
We went to a recent converts house who has a lot of health problems and he works 6 jobs to try and make enough money to survive and in our lesson with him he took of his shoes and I thought somebody had pooped their pants because it was the most potent smell I have ever smelt in my life I was holding in gaging because it smelt so horrendous!!!
Anyways it was an eventful and fun day!
Sunday:
This day was super fun we had lunch with this amazing family that reminds me a ton of my family so that was super cool!
We then went out to work all day and then towards the end of this day we went to this super cool family that was inactive and are now active again and they made the best “Mexican Tacos” they weren’t really Mexican tacos they were definitely Chilean way of cooking tacos but still super duper good!!!!
Anyways my week was super fun and went super fast! I’m super excited for this next week and can’t wait to see what journeys come this next week!!! Love yall and will talk to you in a week! Nos Vemos! Chao!!!!
What a week full of many difficulties and yet some of the most beautiful miracles that I have received my whole mission! It was quite a rough week for me and we had many challenges to face and it wasn’t easy! But we were able to see God’s hand every day and able to stay positive and see beautiful miracles happen! So let’s talk about some of them!
Miracles/Highlights from this last week:
– We had a bike accident with Elder Durham’s bike! Luckily no one got hurt but his piece of his bike that changes gears completely snapped off while we were in the valley of our secteur with NO CELL SERVICE!! We were like what do we do?! So we tried our best to fix it but it was completely destroyed! This guy came up to us and started help us out and i started to talk with him! Found out the person we were going to visit was his wife! So we walked to his house with him and then had a wonderful visit with them and right before we left he asked us for a blessing so I was like of course! So we gave him one and it was absolutely beautiful with tears in his eyes said it was exactly what I needed! He was this sweet papi(grandpa)! I also said the blessing in part French and Tahitian so it was crazy! Gift of Tongues IS REAL!!!
– Surprise Exchange with DZ mā and I got to be with Elder Granger again! It was so good and then we had a huge Soirée Familiale(Family Home Evening) with Taumata mā from Fautaua who are here for work for 1 month and literally felt like we were back in Fautaua! It was a wonderful soirée(evening)! We found so many new amis!!!
– Miraculously got Elder Durham’s bike fixed in less than a day! In Polynesia everything takes so so so much longer and when you ask somebody to do something it takes time but literally it got done so fast and even the guy who fixed the bike said it was a miracle from God and Yes it was!!
That’s about it for this week but wow so amazing to see that even with those challenges I faced there were so many miracles that came and I’m never alone! Like the Prophet has told us that God will manifest more of His hand in our lives then ever before and to always “Seek and Expect Miracles”! That has been my mato of my whole mission is to always seek and expect miracles and they will always happen! His hand is always there and no matter what He’s there to catch us and give us these beautiful miracles! I can testify that He lives and is a God of miracles! They happen every day! We just have to have the eyes to see them! That’s it for this week but I love you all SO MUCH!!!! And miss you all like crazy!!! Till next week! Beaucoup d’amour! Ua here au ia outou! Faaitoito!💙
