It was a much better week! Our investigator finally accepted and was baptized!!! He’s the one who ran away when we showed him the baptismal clothes who wasn’t prepared a few weeks ago. It was a great experience! He explained the night before how in his past he was a drug dealer and a gangster and how he got caught by the cops one time, but they had no evidence for him so he got away clean and he just stopped doing drugs and selling them and then that was around the time he found the missionaries and he just bore his testimony and the spirit was sooooo strong it was soooo awesome!!! It was sooo cool!!!! He will be such an awesome member! He wants to serve a mission. He is 24, so he totally can and he wants his family to get converted and like his cousins and like the whole world! He is gonna be a killer missionary!!!!It was nice not being sick at the apt hahahaha! We went to the zoo as a zone. Hope you like the pictures. Can you believe how close we got to all of them? It was dope though!! It was nuts there was this giant gorillas that were throwing bottles at us and slapping the walls and trying to jump out to get us and were freaking out it was like planet of the apes Caesar gone wild hahahahahahah!!! Then there was this cute little monkey and the zone leader was just trying to grab it and it went crazy! It was so funny I was filming the whole thing. I wish I could send the videos!! We also fed elephants bananas!!! Don’t even worry about me!!! I’m great!!!! I’m so glad my mission president’s wife sent you those pictures. She is the sweetest lady in the world. I totally miss judged her!!! She is my favorite! I saw her son who is like my little buddy at church cuz they came this last week and it was awesome cuz he missed me tons since I’m not at the bureau that much anymore and he just gave me a huge hug. I was talking to mama today and she was like yeah he said he had to use the bathroom super bad and then he just went to talk to you she was cracking up about it. That kid loves me hahaha and he reminds me of Tanner soooo much. I think that’s why I am so close to him hahahaha! I also love my Mission President! Our relationship is super good! I love him so much!!! He really helps me a lot and is just such a good guy not judgmental at all! Well I gotta go. I love you all so much! Have an awesome week!
So the most creepy thing happened to me this week! I got broken into! My phone was literally right next to my bed that means the dude literally was right over me. I’m just glad they didn’t kill us or something hahahahahahahaha I was so sketched out hahahaha!!!! No question grandpa no joke was protecting us! There is no question!!! You’d think I’d be scared, but I’m not. I got the power of God and a legion of angels with me! Its that dude that comes again that should be scared!! I’m super safe though this is the first time that has ever happened to me!! It’s only the third time in three years so it’s super rare that you get robbed here. Not like Josh’s mission. We also played paintball with our mission president and zone. Dude it was so dope man!!! It was pouring down rain during it so the guns jammed a lot but it was the coolest experience bro. Especially paying against president! That was so fun! He got nailed in the face loll!!! He’s so cool! Did you like the pic of him just chillin’ with the gun! HAHAHA . I also beat up this kid that tried to steal from Elder Mercer when we went to the bank last night too, so this has been quite the week. I didn’t really beat him up…just scared him really bad. Haha Another crazy thing happened when I woke up to a flooded apartment.
Good news is I feel better. The sickness is gone! We’re not teaching that many people because I haven’t been able to be in the sectuer because I’ve been so sick. The sickness has been good for me though. I have learned a lot about my self and being close to the Lord! The mission is 100 percent personal! I’ve just come to realize this mission is like the world today completely corrupt imagine how much this has prepared me for the world after the mission!!! Well I love you all! Have a great week!
This week was great! Lots better!!! Happy Birthday Zach, my little hommie!! My mission president called me this week and told me why he sent me here. He just thanked me for my hard work and was telling me that he sent me here to help Elder Sandberg with his French and to prepare him to be a trainer next transfer and that he wants me to train next transfer again tooo hahahaha I have such an incredible relationship with him. I love him so much!! He was just telling me that this next transfer he wants me to train so the 30th of this next month so I will be another transfer with Elder Sandberg I think. The name of my secteur now is Attecoubé zone Toit Rouge. So for this week it all went by as a blur hahahaha sadly Saturday our investigator like ran away from his baptism he had a problem with the “clothes for the baptism”. It was so dumb. Really he’s just not ready so hopefully this next week and also the fr gle alex tooo will get baptized! Tuesday we had that special district meeting thing so that was fun just talked about the conference we had with Elder Katcher and how we can better use it in the field and in our zone and stuff. It was good! Then the rest of the week was just preparing out guy fr anicet for his baptism. I guess its anicet not anissé hahaha but yeah and then he didn’t get baptized and then I may have gotten sick and went to the hospital Friday morning hahaha but I’m way better now!!! So I was diagnosed with Malaria. I feel lots better. I just ended up taking my IB that you sent me with and it helped me out. I should probably get the meds they prescribed me at the hospital though hahahaha I’ve had a fever of 102 muscle aches head ache, diarrhea, stomach ache pain since last Thursday. It was fun! hahahahahahaha That hospital is pretty messed up. They gave me a laxative when I told them I had diarrhea remember? hahahaha Freakin’ Africa hahahaha I just stayed at the apartment and slept everyday. I went to sacrament meeting yesterday to just came home and slept again! I’ve been drinking lots of water like you would always say to do when you’re sick. It was like you were just in my head telling me what to do hahaha It was pretty cool! I feel so much better now though! The hospital visit was quite the visit though…. Josh would get a kick outta it hahaha Don’t worry man I will be just fine! I got the Lord on my side man! I’m gonna get those meds for sure though! If you promise not to freak out, I’ll tell you what happened. You’re not going to believe it!!
So I had to get an IV cuz my fever was so high and so I go to get it and typically you have to eat before you get one right? Yeah no one told me that…. I get it and after just go to sit down cuz I started feeling dizzy. I was like telling Elder Sandberg I was gonna throw up and pass out and that something wasn’t right. Then I stand up a few secs later to pay for it and I just see so many stars, so I sit down and then my hearing just starts getting distant like I’m in a tunnel and then I just see a bright flash like someone took my pic and then just darkness! I was out cold! Sandy (Elder Sandberg’s nickname) told me that he looked over and thought I was sleeping in the chair and was like dude we gotta go now. Then the lady ran over and was like did he eat this morning and he was like no and then she was like ohhh shi* hahahaha and just started slapping me and jammed her thumbs into my eyes and then yelled for 2 sugar cubes and then some water and put it in my mouth and I guess my unconscious body was chewing them and then she got some water and gave it to me and then they dragged me over to this bed but I was completely out cold so like these two weak nurse ladies are like trying to drag me and then this guy comes over and like grabs me and just hucks me up on the table and then they gave me more sugar cubes and were pinching my legs so hard I got all these small bruises hahaha and then I came back and was all good. It was sooooo crazzzy hahahahahaha I’m so dumb! I don’t know why I didn’t eat hahahahah but better question why the stupids didn’t tell me to eat before getting the IV hahahahahaha So yeah pretty crazy!! My eyes were super blood shot and were killing yesterday but they’re better now! I still don’t know why she jammed her thumbs in my eyes hahahahahah Maybe Josh knows??? hahahahaha It was pretty nuts hahahahaha Sandy was just what the heck is happening! I’m going to make a recording and have him explain it. He explains it sooo well hahahahaha! Thanks for the prayers!! Don’t even worry about me grandpa is hookin me up man!!! I got a legions of angels with me!!!! That’s crazy though that mom had me on her mind and stuff so much this week!!
I’m already healed by the priesthood so I’m good! We also have this cute little crazy lady that always invites us over to eat soooo much food and she found out I was sick and sent me a bunch of oranges and made me futu banana with this super yummy sauce which is like my favorite. She’s the best!! We are her”babies”! She’s an old widow! She is super crazy though. She says she is a missionary like us and that we are her children and that she hates black people and that she is white and yeah she’s a funny lady hahahahaha! Tonight I’m going to get a blessing for my eyes. The Lord healed the blind so why can’t he heal me! I love you with all my heart! Have an awesome week! It was a good week! I’m struggling this week. It’s just the fact that there is like no obedience in all of the West Africa missions hahaha, so I’ve just kinda fallen into some disobedience like its just a part of the mission. I don’t even know how to explain it hahahaha I mean I’m not breaking rules just a little bit of sleeping in because I’m so exhausted. You get to the point in this mission where it doesn’t even matter hahahaha You see everyone even your leaders disobeying stuff that its hard to want to be good hahaha I know I’m having one of those weeks. Sorry to be so negative, but it’s just been a really tough week. It’s hard because I’m the oldest and now I have all American missionaries and none of them really want to be here, so they’re not really obedient. I’m trying to be a good example, but it’s really hard. I know it’s the little things, but it’s really hard when your comp doesn’t want to be obedient. Its just me, my comp, and our ZLs in our district. The other dude is the DL of a different district. You guys are spot on!!! Thanks so much guys for pulling me outta the mud. There’s a lot here hahaha and its easy to get stuck! i think i gotta read the Riccardi letter again hahaha Yeah its tough. I’m coming to see the reason I’m here and why the Lord sent me here. It was to test and strengthen me. I will be better at getting up early this week and I know the Lord will bless me. I’m just so tired. I set like three alarms and sleep through them because I’m just so exhausted. Please pray I can get up on time. Hahaha I know the Lord will help me. I just feel like the Lord gave me this cuz I asked the Lord to help me change some of my weaknesses and then this transfer hit me hahahahaha I know the Lord is blessing all of you so I’ll keep up the work man!!! hahaha I’ll try and have a heart to heart with my comp and the other missionaries. The problem is these guys don’t care hahahah my comp wanted to go home after 4 weeks and then pres just put him with an American before me hahaha like he’s already fed up with the mish and pres won’t let him go home that’s how it is. Like people get away with stuff all the time and never get sent home hahaha Welcome to Africa. He’s here for a reason but he doesn’t like spiritual stuff. He just think the rules aren’t for him hahaha and that’s why he doesn’t like it hahaha I got to turn to the Lord! I’m gonna do my best!! I will just ask the Lord to help me! I know he will help me in my life after the mission as I give him my all! I’m going to work super hard and make my comp work too. I know it will make all the difference. I’m sick of this crap I’m just gonna do what I’m supposed to I don’t even care about these fools anymore! One of them have a phone and it’s not cool. Dude its messed! I’m gonna start busting them cuz its not good! I just know I have to be obedient and trust in the Lord. Well sorry if I’ve been a downer, but this has been a really tough week. Sorry no recording and photos this cyber is dumb hahahaha! The boys got baptized! It was a great way to say goodbye to my last area. The best part was I’ve been teaching them from the beginning. So as you I’m sure you guessed I got transferred! I have an American comp for the first time! He’s a stud! He’s from St. George, and he’s been on his mission for 7 months. Only problem is he doesn’t like speaking French, so that may be rough. Oh well. Cool thing is we have a bunch of Americans in the apartment. They also called me as DL. I have all of the ZL in my district so I’m super nervous about it, but I know the Lord will help me! Haha My DL has been really good at helping me because I’m super stressed. He told me the Lord filled his gaps so I know he’ll fill mine. I haven’t even taught in a District Meeting since I was in training, so it should be interesting. Haha. Well I gotta go!! Sorry this week was short!!! I’ll try my best next week to figure out the pics and stuff thats what took a lot of the time hahahahaha love you soooo much!!!! Have a killer week!!!!!!
Happy Birthday MOM!!!!! So cool I get to email you on your birthday!! I had an awesome week. I tell you all about it in my recording, but I had an incredible miracle this week. I grabbed a super hot pan and it sizzled my hand. It hurt so bad, but I got a blessing and the pain instantly left! It was amazing! It feels a ton better!!! The priesthood is so real man holy cow!!! Instant healing!!! It was the best miracle!! The Lord is so awesome! We also got commitments from the young investigators I’ve been teaching since I got here that their parents want them to be baptized. It was awesome! We also had 8 investigators at church! It was such a great week! I did experience something really scary though. So saturday night when we were coming home we were in way bad traffic and we got to this intersection and a bunch of people were crowding around and putting sticks on the ground to get the cars to go around this dude that had just laid his bike and was just chillin in a pool of blood. It was nuts man and then Sunday morning the same thing happened. I got in traffic on the freeway cuz this giant camion truck smashed the front of this baka and all the people were just out on the side of the road laying down holding their heads and stuff in pain and the driver was pinned in the front seat with the smashed front end gashed into his legs pinning him in and all these people were wedging crap in the front door to try to free him and his shirt was just covered in blood along with the door. So yeah pretty nuts! It was crazy. Makes me not want to get into another car here! Please pray for me. It was intense hahahaha! I bet it scared the heck outta Elder Morrell hahahahaha! It will for sure be something I don’t forget. I was thinking I wanted to buy a motorcycle when I got home. Yeah never will I ever own one!!! It was pretty nuts but it actually didn’t really phase me hahahah Don’t worry I’ll be safe. I got a giant legion of angels by my side!! I wear a seatbelt whenever I’m in the front seat. Problem is the ones in the back don’t have seatbelts, and it’s impossible to walk where we need to go hahahaha! The other thing is I’ve been so tired lately. Driving an hour every morning and every night is making us so tired. I’m just dying hahaha I’m gonna talk to the guys tonight and see what they think about doing prayers earlier so we can go to bed earlier. Anyway, the life of a missionary! Hahaha Tomorrow we have the conference with Elder Katcher, the Area President. I’m so stoked!!! Gotta get up at 5AM though, so I’m gonna die hahahhahahaha I try to do my best!!! My legs have been hurting a lot lately like growing pains hahaha or probably just from walking?! Another funny thing is I’m to the point that I don’t like AC hahaha I’m gonna freeze my butt off when I get home hahaha Oh, and send tons of the starburst chews and jolly rancher chews! Those were so good!!! I also LOVED my cheesecake! It was super rich, but soooo good. Americans eat so much sugar! Hahaha So this week I need you to pray that fr Loïc and sr Cynthia can get baptized this sunday with fr cyrille and that we can get fr Rodrigue ready for baptism and that fr chris and sr victoir can get baptized and that their parents will soften their hearts! We also have this guy I forget his name, but he just came from Nigeria. I told you guys about him a few weeks ago but he has been transferred to our ward because we have more english speakers so yeah pray he can be baptised soon and that he can find work and a place to live cuz he is still homeless on the streets. It is so sad man!! He has so much faith! Man he is gonna be baptised way quick! I hope we can have 8 baptisms this month! I will try my best!!!!! Its my birthday month so man i gotta kill it!!

On my birthday we had a baptismal service for chef de zone and after got to eat placcali with sauce gombo. It was killer and then got to serve by washing the dishes and stuff!! I just stole them from the young women and just started washing them. It was funny!!! And then we went to adjahui and it was supêr sick and then went to the mall to party and eat burger king it was the best birthday ever!!! THANK YOU!!! I loved my package so much!!!!!!! Everything was just perfect! It was funny because President texted me and was like make this day special! I was like okay I’m going to go to burger king tonight to celebrate hahahahaha!!! It was great because we met Elder Sorenson there and the APs from the other mission were there too. It was so cool to see them all! It was the best!!!! I loved the cards my bros put in the package! hahah I was dying of laughter!!! I’m so happy BYU won!! Finally!!!!! Dude yeah the football is beast as well. I love it! I was telling Elder Dawson about it!! We have a ball we use every Monday but its crap!! I can’t wait to give the new one a spin!!!! I also love the basketballl tooo!!!! Keep me posted with all the BYU Football happenings…I’m super stoked for their year! I’m gonna wear my Ferdette jersey to celebrate hahahahaha! Its so fun to play the Catan game too. It is so fun! I’m playing it with Elder Morrell!! It was the best!!! I love that guy! He and I have had a blast together!!! Oh also, I love the new belt! Now I use the old one for sectuer and the new one for Sundays and events and stuff its perfect!!! Thank you so much!! What sucks though is I jacked up my speaker….. I turned it on while it was charging accidentally and it just fried it hahahaha! Guess what?! My filling came out again! I had to go to the dentist and they filled it without Novocain. It hurt SOOOO badly!!! She did a way better job it just hurt. The other thing is my hip is bugging me again. It hurts even when I stretch it out. Please pray its ok. It’s swollen like the other one hahahah I just pray I can get through one more year! I don’t want to have to leave early to get that stupid thing fixed!! That would be horrible!! I have faith it will be ok!! I know you think it’s growing because it grows when I grow, but I don’t see it. My pants aren’t showing I’m growing. haha…I’ll be 5’10” forever! On another note, man, I miss the temple! I can’t believe its been a year since the first time I went in. What an experience that was!!! I miss it so much! I can’t believe I’ve almost been here for a year! Where did the time go! I want to stay here forever! Well, I have to go. I love you so much! Thanks again for the birthday package! It rocked! Man this week went by so fast! It was good, but it sure went fast. The upload is taking forever. I sure hope you get to see my pics. They’re great! It stopped raining so the weather is good now. So I’m letting my hair grow out again. I miss my hair. Haha! We also didn’t get our baptism because his dad wouldn’t let him get baptized cuz of his comportements. Not sure what that means in English. Haha. I just looked it up. It means behavior. His behavior was bad so he couldn’t get baptized. 🙁 Aunt Kersten sent me a great email with an awesome talk! It was great! I’m glad you like me speaking Noushi. Haha It’s like pigeon French, but if I speak it it’ll screw up my French. I love speaking French!! I will speak more Noushi after a year cuz i gotta master French first or at least do my best. I can too master it lolol Its soooo tough!!! Wait until you see my Jimmer jersey!! My comp saw another one so he went to buy it today so now we match hahahah its dope!!!! It was just in some hut this dude had jerseys hung up and one was Jimmer’s! So cool huh! All the way in Africa! Haha My comp is in love with BYU. He watched like all their games. I’m going to burger king for my birthday and Sorensen is gonna meet us there!! I’m so stoked!!! Best birthday gift ever!! I’m trying to get our whole zone to go hahaha! I’m gonna just use my card and load up on food for my birthday! Hope that’s ok! I also see a bunch of Dimarious Thomas jerseys here and I’m just like man I miss that sucker! hahahaha Elder Sorensen is gonna apply to BYU, and I bet he will get accepted way easy. I also talked about going to UVU with him so idk or provo. Honestly I don’t even know all I know is him and I are going to college together hahahahahaha! I absolutely love him! He’s become my best friend! I love these missionaries I serve with…we’re all brothers! Its really hard where we are right now because our area is an hour away from our apartment. We talk to as many people as we can!!! We had a super cool conversation with our cab driver just yesterday, and I just remembered it was super cool! We all wanted to do something fun today, but the ZLs called this morning and asked us all to clean our apartments. Ours is already immaculate so who knows what we’ll end up doing. Oh well, I came on my mission to work not play. haha! Oh I keep forgetting to tell you that I still suck at using my mosquito net because I got an allergic reaction to the chemicals in it so I haven’t been using it. But I am a master rice cooker now hahahahaha! I just wish we had more investigators. We’re working hard but we don’t have many. Pray we find more! Okay well I gotta go because time is up. Man, I’m so tired from sports this morning!!! It was super fun. We all got together as a zone and played soccer. I’m getting really good! haha . Earlier today I wrestled another missionary who was a huge Polynesian and put him on his butt. It was dope!!! Everyone went nuts hahahha! It was super funny. We haven’t been able to much work this week. We don’t get a lot of time in the secteur because it’s so far away. We do have a baptism lined up this Saturday. He’s this cute 14 year old. He’s a stud!!! Pray it goes through! Also pray we can find more investigators to teach that come to church lololol! My comp’s first trainer he had for only a few weeks because he wasn’t being obedient so the President gave him to me to train. He would go to the cyber for like 10 hrs at a time. Crazy, right? This mission is so different than any other mission in the world! Its tough, but I love it man!!! Never a dull moment. It’s all good. I really do love this place. The Lord has helped me a ton. I used to be such a negative person!!! I now see good in everything no matter what happens. I forgot to tell you the kid with the glasses is Elder Duncan he is my district leader and then I have some with me and Elder Morrelll and my comp and also with my new zone leader elder Motshikana. I love these guys. It’s the first time I’ve been in an apartment with such spiritual missionaries. It’s the best! Well family, have an awesome week! I’ll keep praying for all of you! My week was awesome!!! hahaha It’s great here but lots of work especially with a prideful greenie! hahaha He is actually super great. I love the dude so much!!! I have come to see how I was when I first started my mission no wonder my comp hated me lolololol! He is such a cool guy! I love my comp so much he speaks so many languages its soooo cool! Mom, yours and Josh’s hand written letters made me cry. I have some really great pictures of my new comp, but my computer isn’t working! Computers in Africa!?!? Oh well.

We leave so late because we have to get everything done for the day in the morning. When we live near the apartment we will have a more normal schedule. The computer is just not working today, so I can’t upload these photos. I love my apartment right now! It’s the first time everyone has been super spiritual! We have two greenies. It’s awesome. The other greenie is American. He’s a stud. I love it!!! My comp basically speaks just like the Ivorians because he grew up here. It’s awesome. He’s a great guy. He had a tough life.
