June 17, 2024 FAUTAUA TAHITI (WEEK 15)

Wow this week we had a huge miracle with one of our friends! His name is Blanc and I can’t get into too many details but the fact that he had a struggle with the Word of Wisdom which is a commandment that our church follow that helps us to be worthy of His spirit and have His strength always to not have any harmful substances affect our beautiful bodies that God has given us and when we taught Blanc about this he instantly wanted to follow and have the blessings which we gave as the 3 “s” (Santé, Sagesse, et Sécurité) which works in French but translates to Health, Wisdom, and Security/Safety! And so with that he was like I want that so we asked him if he would follow this commandment and without hesitation said “Yes!” and it was amazing! Well fast forward to Sunday we called him and he was like I didn’t give into breaking the Word of Wisdom during Father’s Day! Which is huge because any celebration Tahitians who aren’t members go crazy but he stood up and even got his other friends not to either! It was just absolutely amazing and wanted to share that miracles happen always and even the hardest things to change in our lives are possible to change through our Savior Jesus Christ through His Strength!

Now for some Highlights from this week:

-Literally almost every day had a miracle with getting food! A lot of our Fatams(members who we eat with) canceled and didn’t have dinners and I said a little prayer in my heart and literally every day we had a miracle and it was something small but INCREDIBLE to me!!

-So many lessons STILL in our secteur(area) even though we have 4 missionaries here in Fautaua! We divided the secteur into 2 and we still have like 5-6 lessons a day! It’s incredible! More and more people are just ready and interested!

-Had a beautiful lesson with an inactive member who is now coming back to church and we started doing lessons with her and now she’s decided to prepare and go to the temple and preparing to do so!

-Been making a hat that this sweet Mamie(Grandma/Old lady) who is a new member of our Church taught me and my companion to make and it’s been so fun and so amazing to do! You can also do it with ribbon so I can make them even when I go back home!

-Started to learn more Tahitian this week and wow it’s a hard language to learn but so amazing with its symbolism and how much the people love it when you speak it even if it’s not correct!

-Had a wonderful Father’s day with calling my Dad and yeah I just have the best Dad in the whole universe! Love you DAD!!!

That’s about it for this week but there has been so many miracles lately it’s been amazing to see! Literally not a day goes by without incredible miracles! All has been because of changing my focus to see every little detail being a miracle and how many wonderful things happen because of that! Another thing that really stood out to me was when I was doing my personal study and read in the talk “Motions of a Hidden Fire” By President Jeffrey R. Holland, he said in it, “God hears every prayer we offer and responds to each of them according to the path He has outlined for our perfection…but I promise you they are heard and they are answered according to His unfailing love and cosmic timetable”. It’s such a beautiful quote and it’s so true that all our prayers are answered even if it’s in ways that we don’t expect! We have to have the eyes to see them and see the answers through His eyes and His perfect timing and way! Keep looking for these same miracles that we all can have DAILY!! They are there we just have to look for them! I am so grateful for this Gospel and it truly is a Gospel of MIRACLES!!! I love you all SO MUCH!!!! And miss you all!!! Beaucoup d’amour! Ua here au ia outou! Faaitoito!💙

June 10, 2024 FAUTAUA TAHITI (WEEK 14)

MIRACLE WEEK!!! Our amie Milena Keller and her family we had started to teach almost 2 transfers ago we found again and she and her little daughter came to church this Sunday and we had a lesson with them this week! It was so amazing and literally was calling everyday to get a hold of them but they never responded! Then I had an impression to just call them and they ANSWERED!! We then fixed a lesson it was so good to see them again and she’s so ready to be baptized we are going to invite her this week to come! Then another amie we have been trying to contact answered the same day and we will be having a lesson with her this coming week as well so literally MIRACLES!! Seek and Expect Miracles ALWAYS!!!!

Now for some Highlights from this week:

-Entretien avec Président (interviews)! They were so good and President Tuahu and I just talked about the mission and how crazy it is that Mom and Dad are finishing and it was just a special moment that we had! He also said how much he and sœur Tuahu love me so much and said how grateful they were for me and it just made me feel so good! Literally love them SO MUCH!!!

-MLC (Mission Leadership Council) was this week and so because we are in the office we go to take notes and then send it to the leaders! It’s so amazing that we get to be part of it and have those training there with the other leaders! We talked about the Doctrine of Christ and how we consecrate our efforts on Him! It was all wonderful! Also got to see Elder Adams, Soeur Lallemant, et my bestie Sœur Harryman all from Taravao!

-Soirée Temple!! We had 2 inactive members come and it was amazing because one is now preparing to meet with the Bishop to renew her recommend to go to the Temple again! It was a beautiful experience with her!

-Found Milena Keller and had a wonderful lesson with their Family!

-Miracle with getting food when we didn’t have a Fatams! I said a prayer in my heart that we would have a miracle and by some way we would find food and literally DID!! Some gave us a pizza and then Lays Chips with Fanta! Literally so small but a huge miracle for me!

That’s about it for this week but yeah it was an amazing week! Hard to believe my parents are finishing their mission here in just a couple weeks and it’s been kinda hard to not be there to finish with them but how grateful I am that we’ve been able to wear our badges together and to have been serving together in this beautiful work! Love them more that they could ever know and we will forever be the Spokane Clan! But something that stuck out to me during my personal studies this week was the talk by Elder Kearon in April 2024 General Conference and the quote was, “Everything about the Father’s plan for His beloved children is designed to bring everyone home.” I love this quote because it’s so true like Elder Kearon says later that Heavenly Father is in constant pursuit to brig us back home! He’s there for us and wants us to return back to Him! Through His beautiful pan of Happiness it is possible! And He will be there every step of the way if we let Him in to help lead and guide us to have the strength to make it back! He lives and love us more than we can truly comprehend and want the best for us every day! Turn to Him and rejoice in His beautiful plan for each and everyone of us to bring us ALL back home to Him! Talk to you all again in another short week! I love you all SO MUCH!!!! And miss you all!!! Beaucoup d’amour! Ua here au ia outou! Faaitoito!💙

June 3, 2024 FAUTAUA TAHITI (WEEK 13)

HOW IS IT JUNE?!!! LITERALLY HALF WAY DONE WITH THE YEAR!!! Time has been flying by! We had transfers this week and I STAYED! My first time being with a companion longer than just a transfer! Then to my shock we got a call just after the news and found out that our secteur is now cut into 2 because we have so many friends being taught now! So we now have 4 in our secteur and 4 in our paroisse(ward)! Then we got all the Tahitian missionaries that were serving in New Caledonia get emergency transferred here because of the aggression that’s happening over there! And so we now have a tahitian with us in our house because he’s in Fautaua B while my companion and I are in Fautaua A! Then also had new missionaries come in and all of this happened this week and we helped out a lot this transfer! So yeah it was a very crazy week with lots of changes even though I stayed! All super crazy!

Now for some Highlights from this week:

-Transfer calls were Tuesday and it was great and so relieved to have not been transferred! I trusted and know that God still needs me to be here in Fautaua!

-Surprise Secteur split being now Fautaua A and B because we literally have so many friends!

-Had to take Elder Westerlund to the airport at 7am to go to Takaroa because was transferred over there! Kinda a crazy day!

-Transfers we went to President Tuahu’s house to get the numbers of the new missionaries and then the SIM cards from the missionaries from New Caledonia and so that’s was great to see them but it was so stressful because we were pretty much running all over the place but it all worked out!

-The missionaries from Facebook used to be in our house with us but they moved them to have Fautaua A and B together so even though my companion and I stayed we still have a lot of new this transfer! We got an American and a Tahitian who was in New Caledonia! They’re nice and it’s great to have them in our secteur!

-Had to teach them all of our friends in their secteur so we were 4 missionaries in all our lessons at the end of our week it was crazy! And all our faatamaaraa’s or fatams when we eat with members are all together and so that’s pretty crazy and fun!

-HAD A SURPRISE BAPTISM!!! It was crazy our ami Tautea’arii Renvoyé was on date for baptism this week and we were going to move it to be this coming week because he hadn’t been to church for weeks but then found out he had been going every week in Taravao (my baby secteur) so we called them and they were like we have all our family coming so we have to do it this week! So we hurried and scrambled through and eventually made it work so it was wonderful! He’s 10 years old and I’m so happy for him! Was a very wonderful day and I got to give the talk on Baptism!

-Then had a Soirée Familiale(Family Home Evening) yesterday with Blanc who is a new ami and his wife with their friends Moana and his wife and it was great! We’ve invited him to be baptized but he said not yet but started to come to church every week and he’s really starting to change and so it little by little for him and it’s so amazing to watch his progress and the light in him grow!!

That’s about it for this week! It was so wonderful and stressful and yet flew by! I loved my personal study I had this week with studying Elder Uchtdorf’s last general conference talk “A Higher Joy” he said, “God Himself weeps, as the scriptures affirm He does, then of course you and I will weep as well. Feeling sad is not a sign of failure. In this life, at least, joy and sorrow are inseparable companions.” In those times I feel down or sad this quote helped me so much to realize I can feel as the Savior did and know that it’s ok to weep or have those really hard days because the Savior is right there with me helping me through and carrying me to then find Joy in Him! Then he says, “Jesus taught, “Seek, and ye shall find.” I believe this simple phrase is not only a spiritual promise; it is a statement of fact. If we seek reasons to be angry, to doubt, to be bitter or alone, we will find them too. However, if we seek joy—if we look for reasons to rejoice and to happily follow the Savior, we will find them. We rarely find something we are not looking for.” Like he said we rarely find something we aren’t looking! The weeks or days that are stressful and hard turn to Him and find the Joy in the week and know that we can choose and search for that Joy to then always have a good day or week! Just something I really lived in my study and wanted to share! Love you all so much! I’m doing great, sad at times but really changing my focus on Him and I’ve seen myself keep changing to be Thinking Celestial and having JOY always! He’s always there for us! Turn to Him and find this Higher Joy!!! Talk to you all again in another short week! I love you all SO MUCH!!!! And miss you all!!! Beaucoup d’amour! Ua here au ia outou! Faaitoito!💙

May 27, 2024 FAUTAUA TAHITI (WEEK 12)

LAST WEEK OF THE TRANSFER! TIME FLEW BY!! It was such a great transfer! I was so grateful for all that happened and for the time I’ve seen the wonderful miracles happen here in Fautaua! We’ll see what happens this week if I get transferred! This week something that really was profound for me was the amazing gift of the Plan of Salvation or Plan of Happiness in my life and for the opportunity that one day I will be able to live with all my family for the rest of all eternity! This plan is so true and we taught a family a part of it and will continue this week and to see their reactions to the plan of never hearing something like it and how much they loved it just grew my testimony so much of how grateful I am for it! It is true and I know each of us have this beautiful plan so individually made for each of us through the infinite love of our Heaven Father! It was just a wonderful experience that I had and again so grateful for this knowledge!

Now for some Highlights from this week:

-Recording for Ta’u Mama Here the song we made for La Fête des Mères(Mother’s day) and we recorded it at the chapel with a member who had professional recording devices! His name was Tino and he was so cool! And was literally the sweetest ever for helping us!

-Filming was also this week for the video also and it was at this beautiful beach! It was so fun and I got sunburned on the face but other than that it was a great time!

-Had the really powerful lesson about the Plan of Salvation with this family we are teaching and it was so amazing and was a very powerful experience for me! Love their family so much and am so excited to continue to teach them and see their testimonies continue to grow!

-Birthday of Sœur White and it was so amazing! We went to breakfast together and then did a hike and it was so much fun to be together as a district and to help make that day special for her since she just got here!

-Zone Conference was amazing and learned so many wonderful things and how to continue to be the best that I can be! A lot of it was focused on helping work with our members and see the wonderful miracles of all working together to help accomplish this great work!

-Our ami Blanc came to church for the first time this week and it was so amazing! I was so grateful to see him there and it was such a wonderful experience to see him little by little keep turning more and more to our Savior and Heavenly Father!

That’s about it for this last week but it was so amazing and really have continued to work of my focus and it’s amazing to see when it’s centered on our Savior everything changes and I can feel JOY all the time at every moment of the day no matter what! He is always there for us and though it’s not always the easiest when we do we can really see a difference in our lives! He is there to give us the strength to do all and have Joy eternally no matter the circumstances! A wonderful thing I’ve see this week in my scripture studies and what I’ve been trying to do is underline all the references of joy in the Book Of Mormon and it’s amazing to see how much it talks about JOY! This is a joyous gospel and we can always have joy when our focus is centered on our Savior Jesus Christ! Find the Joy in the every day, see the miracles that come from being joyful, and see the hand of the Lord everyday in the details! He’s always there! The gospel is so TRUE and every day I am more and more grateful to be here and grow my testimony of this beautiful gospel! He’s there for us and feel His eternal JOY always!! Talk to you all again in another short week! I love you all SO MUCH!!!! And miss you all!!! Beaucoup d’amour! Ua here au ia outou! Faaitoito!💙

May 20, 2024 FAUTAUA TAHITI (WEEK 11)

INGROWN TOENAIL AGAIN!!!😭😖 So yeah got another ingrown toenail again this week after starting to run again and it gave me so much PTSD because of what happened the last time and it’s on the same toe! As of now I’ve been able to get a cotton ball wedged in to get the nail out and it’s feeling better! But was kinda a rough end to the week but again helping me to not ask what but what I can learn during this experience! I’ve seen myself changing when I have that vision rather than being like why me and why am just struggling but wow the Savior experienced worse then I can even imagine suffering for me and it’s a way for me to have some empathy towards Him and have so much gratitude for Him! He paid the ultimate price and He is my source of peace and comfort during struggling moments! He’s ALWAYS there!

Now for some Highlights from this week:

-Started to go running and it was amazing to run again! We ran all as a district and it was so fun! Though I think that’s how my ingrown toenail came but it was for the memories!

-Found a new friend Moana who we contacted once and then he never really wanted to talk with us again but we contacted him again this week and had a wonderful lesson with him and it was all in Tahitian and it was amazing because I could actually understand parts of it and literally THE GIFT OF TONGUES AND INTERPRETATION OF TONGUES IS REAL!!!!

-Soirée Familiale(Family Home Evening) with the family of Hanileiwho just got baptized and it was so good to be with her other family who aren’t members and to have a wonderful night together!

-Recorded a song this week for the Fête des Mères (Mother’s day) because it’s later here in Tahiti! It was so amazing to listen to the Tahitian instruments and see the song come together!

-Blessed the sacrament in French for the first time and it was such a neat experience! Though it was kinda rough it was amazing to see the Lord fill my mouth!

That’s about it for this week but yeah continuing to change my focus on seeing the positives and to not ask why but what I can learn! Bad things happen to good people because there’s an opposition in all things but when bad things happen there are always good things that will come! Keep holding on and know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are always there to support us and give us strength if we turn to Them! See the daily miracles and seek and expect them! They live and love us more than we can truly comprehend! Talk to you all again in another short week! I love you all SO MUCH!!!! And miss you all!!! Beaucoup d’amour! Ua here au ia outou! Faaitoito!💙

May 13, 2024 FAUTAUA TAHITI (WEEK 10)

GIGANTIC SPIDER ON OUR WALL!!!🕷 I wanted to take a picture but it was so scary I couldn’t! It was absolutely GIGANTIC! Like the size of my palm just chilling on the wall outside of our house! Literally my biggest fear is spiders that are big! They are so gross!!! Literally is my second experience with a giant spider like that here in Tahiti and literally it gives me chills! But yeah kinda a crazy experience!

Now for some Highlights from this week:

-JOYEUX FÊTE DES MÈRES!!! HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!! I got to talk with my mom and it was so amazing! Literally words can describe my love for her and how grateful I am for her! She is my bestest friend EVER and so grateful for her example of the Savior in my life and always being there for me! I love you so much mommy🥹🥰😘💙

-Interviews with President!! It was so good to see him and I always love getting to talk with President! He’s the literal sweetest and I have the best leaders ever here in Tahiti! Love them both so so much!

-We found 2 new amies during a lesson with our other new amies and they were family and are now interested in taking the lessons with the missionaries and it amazing because they also all came to church this week as a whole family!

-Had an exchange with Elder Adams(MY TRAINER/”PAPA” another name for trainer) and Elder Rupea and it was so good! It was such a miracle to be with him again so short after being transferred away from each other and it was so amazing to be with him! He’s literally my brother and literally always has my back! During our exchange a drunk called us over and was talking with us and then went after me and tried to punch me in the face but Elder Adams saved me and it was such a crazy experience! Elder Adams is literally incredible he’s always there to protect me and this is the second time a crazy experience like this happened to us and he always protected me and did it again! Love him so much!!

-Stake Conference and they called a new Président de Pieu(Stake President) and it was amazing to have an area 70 with us for it! The messages were great and got to talk with President and Sœur Tuahu after the Saturday session and it was so amazing to get to see them both and then had a wonderful Sunday session too and had 8 of our amies came! It was a big miracle!!

-GOT TO SEE SŒUR HARRYMAN AND SŒUR WHITE!! It was such a surprise to see them this week because they did an exchange here and so we did sport(our daily exercise) in the morning and they came! It was so fun to see them!

-MY FAMILY SAW THE NORTHERN LIGHTS!!! I can’t believe they got to see them! They sent me a picture and I ran outside thinking I could see them too then realized oh wait I’m in Tahiti😂 But one day hopefully I’ll be able to see them!!

That’s about it for this week but wow it flew by and I can’t believe it’s already P-day again!! It was amazing to see that this week I really tried focusing on our Savior Jesus Christ and our amies this week and it was amazing how much faster time flew by! I still had moments that I was a little homesick but for the most part I was able to feel at peace and not dwell on my thoughts of missing home! Focus is everything and when we continue to have a true focus centered on Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father we can have strength to do everything even the hard times with peace and comfort! They Never abandon us and They are always there to give us the strength to do it! Something I learned this week during my personal studies was when bad things happen or things that are unexpected don’t ask why this happened but what can I learn from this experience! Don’t ask why but what! It’s a very powerful way of changing our thoughts and it’s changing our thoughts to be more Celestial and see the good in everything and not dwell on the negative! It’s not easy to do but I know when the Savior and our Heavenly Father sees our efforts They magnify them beyond our comprehension and give us the strength we need! Talk to you all again in a short week! I love you all SO MUCH!!!! And miss you all!!! Beaucoup d’amour! Ua here au ia outou! Faaitoito!💙

May 6, 2024 FAUTAUA TAHITI (WEEK 9)

Surprise Wedding in Tahiti?!👀🤵🏻‍♂️👰‍♀✨️🌺 hahaha had my first wedding here in Tahiti because the Sœur mā had a baptism and invited us to it and I had forgotten they were getting married and then after the baptism was over had a reception and it was amazing! Weddings here are INCREDIBLE!! They were both literally the cutest ever and so happy to be married and then baptized! They had so much Joy and literally were rays of Light beaming after! It was a wonderful experience and grateful I got to experience it!

Now for some Highlights from this week:

-We have a new quartier(neighborhood) in our secteur!!! It just opened last Saturday the same day as the CN180 celebration! So we got to do contacting and found 3 member families and 3 new amies who are interested in taking the lessons! So we’ll keep contacting and finding out who alm lives there!

-We had MLC(Mission Leadership Council) this week and it was wonderful and it was all focused on the importance of working with members! It was amazing and I get to got because I’m a Tech Missionary and we take all the notes to then send it out to all the missionaries! Also got to really be with President and Sœur Tuahu and sat by them at lunch and it was such a wonderful talk with them! They are so amazing!

-Soirée Temple was also this week and its crazy that another month has flown by! We do it every month to have all our friends come together and talk about the temple then go to the temple garden and take pictures of them, answer questions, and really just feel the spirit of being on the temple grounds! Hanilei came and she was so excited to continue to prepare for going to the temple because she just got baptized and now going to the temple! It was a beautiful experience with her and she is just continuing to be a ray of sunshine! She literally the sweetest!

-BAPTISM WITH PAIATUA!!! It was so good and it’s amazing watching him change and now baptized and got confirmed yesterday being Sunday! It was so spiritual and I got to give the talk on the gift of the Holy Ghost and it was wonderful! And then Sunday he was in class and they asked him to introduce himself because there were some new people and he was like I’m Paiatua and I’m a member and he said it so happily and it was just amazing to see him now a member and baptized!

-We did contacting with our members thus week with the Family Tevero and it was so amazing! We were able to talk with people that would’ve wanted to talk with us but since they were friends with the members they were happy to talk with us and it was an amazing experience! Working with members has been a wonderful experience and its literally impossible to do this work without them! They are a wonderful aid to the missionaries and we can’t do this beautiful work alone!!

That’s about it for this week but it was amazing to see this week being filled with Heavenly Father answering my prayers and really feeling His infinite individual love for me! I’ve been struggling a bit lately but was able to fast and pray and got the answers to my prayers! Though it’s never what I’m expecting, it’s always what I need! The most beautiful I read was by President Holland titled “Waiting on the Lord” October 2020 and it was literally an answer to my prayers and was just a beautiful moment! And so I wanted to share with all of you that it’s so true that God absolutely loves us so perfectly and answers each and every prayer we have we just have to have the eyes and patience to see! It’s in His perfect time table and it’s much better than ours! He knows exactly what we need when we need it and sometimes in a moment when we don’t think we need it and yet it was exactly what we needed! He is always there for us! Turn to Him always and know that with our faith and trust we will be blessed in His perfect timing and become who He needs us to be! Can’t believe another week went by! Time truly has been flying by! It’s already May!! Crazy!! But I love all of you so so so so so much! And miss you all likewise!!! Beaucoup d’amour! Ua here au ia outou! Faaitoito!💙

April 29, 2024 FAUTAUA TAHITI (WEEK 8)

WHERE TO START?!! This week was filled with so many miracles that being at the end of the week having it spent with Elder Soares and his dear wife! Also Elder and Sister Nielsen who my families knows very well! It’s been amazing to be in their presence and hear of their words! Also the WHOLE mission got to be together and it was amazing to all be here in Papeete and celebrating the first missionary of Tahiti 180 years ago! This island is special and its amazing to see all the miracles and blessings from the church being here in Tahiti and that like 2 Nephi 29:7 says, “…that I remember those who are upon the isles of the sea”. God knows and remembers this people here and it’s beautiful to be part of this great history here! The celebration consisted of 2 parts the cultural part and the spiritual part. The first hour was all dancing showing the culture here and the had an hour break then the rest was us missionaries and other members who sang in a giant choir! It was beautiful and then we got to hear Elder and Sœur Soares speak to us and Elder Soares spoke in French it was incredible! It was just all centered around the blessing of how special French Polynesian is and what a blessing it has been for here! It was such a beautiful experience and hard to put into words all that happened but is definitely a couple of days I’ll never forget! So beautiful!

Now for some other highlights from this week:

-Found 4 new friends just from doing a lesson with 1 new friend we found a little bit ago and they all wanted to listen and then they all were interested for another lesson and it was such a miracle!

-Helped get ready for the celebration and mission conference with Elder Soares am bad went to the church but Pirae to set up all the chairs for the conference we had Friday! It was great and glad I was able to help!

-We had a feeling to go visit one of our friends and when we got the they were Ike do you want a waffle and I didn’t hear her and my companion said yes and I was like yeah so then we had this amazing waffle just during our lesson and it was so good! My first time that happened and it was also a miracle because I was really hungry and was literally and answer to my prayers and a miracle!

-Mission Conference with Elder and Sister Soares and Elder and Sister Nielsen with other visiting Authorities was absolutely incredible! He talk about having Joy in our lives and the others talked about how we hear Him and having faith that God will always answer our prayers and literally everything was exactly what I needed to hear! Elder Soares talked about 5 points of what Joy is and how we can always have it:

1. Feeling joy increases our desire to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with others.

2. Joy is a principle of power.

3. Our joy is a choice.

4. Forget yourself and get lost in this great cause.

5. We can feel true joy by focusing our mission on Jesus Christ.

He then promised us we would always have joy if we followed these 5 principles! It was just a beautiful experience!

-Got a picture with Elder and Sister Nielsen after because our family knows them and it was so amazing to see them again almost a year later when I saw them the last time!

-Got to see my WHOLE district from the MTC which I haven’t seen since I’ve gotten here which was an amazing devotional! Then spent all of the celebration sitting by Elder Warnock who was my companion in the MTC and it was so good seeing him again!! Also seeing everyone together!!

-Had the CN180 celebration and like I said above it was really amazing! Just the importance of this amazing blessing of the missionaries coming here to share the gospel 180 years ago!

-Got to see so many families from Taravao my old secteur and it was amazing! The family Colombel, Bisiaux, and Tetoka! It was so good to see them and I miss them so so much! We got pictures and were able to catch up for a little moment and it was just such an incredible miracle to see them! God is so aware of me that I was even with how many people came which was a lot I was able to see all of them! It was incredible!!

-Sunday was another special conference we had with Elder and Sister Soares and it was amazing because it was our 3rd time hearing from him and I felt so blessed to be able to hear so much from him this weekend! He is absolutely incredible!!

-Got to go to the Tahiti Faa’a airport to drop off the missionaries who were traveling back to the islands because the celebration and conference finished and I hadn’t been back there since my very first day here so that was a pretty crazy experience!

-Oh yeah not a highlight but this week while I was taking a shower there were maggots in the shower and then looked up and they were falling from the roof! It was DISGUSTING! I think something died in the roof and yeah very gross! But I’m still alive so that’s good!

But yeah that’s about it for this week! Filled with absolute incredible miracles and experiences I’ll never forget! I just felt Heavenly Father and the Savior’s hand in every detail and that They know me so individually! They are my ultimate source of Joy and Peace and only through Them can I have the strength to keep moving forward! Heavenly Father answers our prayers and never hesitate to pray and continue to grow our relationship with Him! He wants to give us blessing when we are faithful and trust in His perfect plan and timing for us! It’s not always easy and something I’m still working on doing but when we continue to put forth the effort and trust un His timing we will see the blessing perfectly placed in our lives! I know He heats us! And love us with His perfect love! Find His endless JOY that we can have in our lives daily no matter the circumstances because of Him! Love and miss all of you so so much! Beaucoup d’amour! Ua here au ia outou! Faaitoito!💙

-Elder LeBaron

April 22, 2024 FAUTAUA TAHITI (WEEK 7)

HAPPY P-DAY!!! Wow TRANSFERS!!! Elder Van Dyke and Elder Laufatte left and I got a new companion! His name is Elder Granger and he’s very kind! He’s from Boston, Massachusetts knows a lot of French and Tahitian! He’s also our new District leader! It was sad to say goodbye to my other companions but I know this is who I need to be with now and am continuing to trust in the plan Heavenly Father has for me!

Now for some Highlights from this week:

-HANILEI AVAE WAS BAPTISED!!! It was my first one where I helped teach all the lessons with her and she is literally incredible! It was amazing to see her progress and she has so much light and I can’t wait to see how many lives she’ll touch and she has definitely touched mine! I also gave the talk about the Holy Ghost and sang in French! It was my first time singing here in Tahiti! But yeah it was amazing to because not all her family are members but they all came and supported her and felt the spirit so strongly! It was an incredible experience!

-We had transfers and I’m still here in Fautaua!

-We have a car now just temporarily and it’s been amazing and a big blessing! Since our secteur is a hill and biking up and down and up and down isn’t the easiest so having the car is great!

-Got to go to President’s house to greet the new missionaries and help them with their phones so that was wonderful!

-4 of our new friends who normally don’t come to church each week came yesterday and it was such a miracle and they got to be there to see someone receive the Holy Ghost which was a beautiful experience and the spirit was very strong!

-Got to be an English translator for these Americans who came visiting and it was pretty hard to get it all 100% correct but I tried and they were so sweet!

-Had a big choir practice for the CN180 celebration Sunday for this coming week with Elder Soares and got to see a lot of friends from Taravao my first secteur and it was amazing to see them and I miss them all so much and they all said the same!

But yeah that’s about it for this last week! Many miracles and had transfers which always kinda is crazy but still pressing forward with faith knowing I’m in God’s hands! I had a beautiful experience yesterday with a question I had and then it got answered after my personal studies and I can testify if you have questions and when you pray Heavenly Father will answer and hear your prayers! I really have come to see that it’s never the way I expect but it’s always there and when you have the eyes to see He’s been there the whole time! Keep holding on and know that life isn’t easy but with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ They give you the strength to do hard things and be able to have a strength and confidence like Doctrine and Covenants 24:12, “…And I will give unto him strength such as is not known among men.” It is true and He does give us that strength! They live and love us with a love we truly can’t comprehend, a pure perfect love! Love and miss all of you so so much! Beaucoup d’amour! Ua here au ia outou! Faaitoito!💙

April 15, 2024 FAUTAUA TAHITI (WEEK 6)

WOW TRANSFERS THIS WEEK?!!!! It’s crazy it’s already TRANSFERS this week! This transfer flew by! It feels like I just got here and yet I’ve almost been here for 1 month and a half in Fautaua! Many things happened this transfer with Easter and then had General Conference! It was a very incredible transfer for me! Though something crazy happened this week and I never thought I would have this happen to me but while sitting during our Fatams they had a cat that was resting by my feet and out of nowhere bit me and it hurt so bad! It drew blood and I was terrified because I thought I would get rabies or something but I called our mission nurse and luckily there are no rabies here in Tahiti so I’m ok! But yeah kinda wasn’t the greatest but it’s ok I’m still alive!

Now for some Highlights from this week:

-We had an exchange this week and I was with my companion Elder Laufatte and Elder Adolphe who is my district leader! It went well and was able to find 5 new friends during the exchange so that was pretty awesome!

-We had Zone Conference this week and it was so good! It was my first actual normal zone conference because when I first got here it was a Christmas Conference and then after Elder Wakolo came and had a zone conference with him! So yeah and then after we had an extra hour where we sang to prepare for the big celebration for the CN180 for celebrating the church here in Tahiti for the 180th Anniversary with Elder Soares who will be coming! Also got to see Sœur Lines, Pereira, Gardner, and Elder Murray! Always love seeing my district from the MTC! Also got to see Sœur Harryman who is literally my bestie who was in Taravao with me and same with her companions Sœur White(who is the cousin to Maddie, Lauren, and Paige Jackson who are my really good friends from Spokane) and Sœur Snow!

-We got a car for this week and it has been so NICE!!! I like riding the bike to stay in shape but having a car is a lot better because our secteur is a hill and everyday it’s pretty tiring but bearable! But having the cat this week was so amazing and helped us to do a lot more in our secteur because of it!

-I ate calamari for the “real” first time and it was absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! I loved it a lot! Normally i just said I hated it because I thought it was weird to eat but just ate it and it was super yummy! It was a fatams we had at a nice restaurant and the food was INCREDIBLE!!! He was the sweetest ever and he could speak English which was very cool! His name was Lehi and was the nephew of one of the members in our ward! It was a wonderful night with him!

-Our amie Hanilei is getting baptized this Saturday and so excited for her! To get her ready we’ll be teaching her almost every day this week and she is so excited and ready! Also it’ll be my first baptism of an amie I’ve helped teach all the lessons and get baptized so it’s super exciting!

That’s about it for this week but it was wonderful and filled with so many miracles! It’s amazing to see the Lord’s hand in this wok every day because all is possible because of Him! In my hardest moments He is right there to catch me and give me the strength to get through the hard moments and never be alone! He is our center and if we put Him there we will never fall and He will always be there to bring a smile on our faces and have peace, love, and comfort ALWAYS! I read the conference talk by Elder Soares yesterday titled “Covenant Confidence through Jesus Christ” in the last April conference and its amazing what confidence comes from Jesus Christ to do all He needs us to do and when we keep and continue to make covenants we receive that confidence! He is always there to give us exactly what we need even when we think it’s not or it’s not what we were expecting it’s always right what we need! He lives and is my best friend and the only person who knows me so individually! He loves us all so much with a perfect love that we truly can’t comprehend! Turn to Him and draw from His eternal strength, love, and joy! Miss you all so much! Beaucoup d’amour! Ua here au ia outou! Faaitoito!💙
