How has it been 5 weeks already? These last couple weeks have been incredible. We had five of our investigators baptised, two of them english speakers so I had to translate for them which was so amazing. We had to fill the baptismal font up with buckets because the water to the church turned off haha it was an experience for sure, but just like always the Lord helps you! Many members came to help us fill the font and after about an hour and a half, we got the font filled up high enough so we could kneel down to baptise them. This baptism was so beautiful and what was also so amazing is these investigators helped us fill the font where they would then be baptised, it was so cool and the spirit was so strong through this whole thing! We had zone conference which was wonderful! It’s always good to get together with all the elders and our mission President. Elder Nelson and I are having so much fun serving together, we absolutely love these people here in Nsam! I got my first package from home which was so awesome! it was nice to get some things from my family! Ive been rocking only one pair of shoes these last couple months because my last ones broke so it was nice to receive another pair in the package! Life is amazing here in Cameroun, I absolutely love these people! my french keeps getting better and better each day thanks to my Father in Heaven! I know without a doubt if you ask God for help he will always be there to help! I love you all, thank you for all your prayers!
It was my first week here in Nsam and holy cow I love it here!!!! It is so much cooler haha Douala was so hot!!! Here are some pics from my week! We took some cool pics on this railroad track which was cool. We were trying to reenact Josh’s pic, but yeah his is so dope haha We can’t, but hey it was cool! Also, there are so many hills here. It’s crazy and so pretty!! It kinda reminds me of Costa Rica a little lol! Also, its sooo dusty here and the dirt is sooooo red! The pic of us sweeping was just after one week at the church, then the baptism font which is kinda sketch haha The water was almost black lol and then these 2 sweet little boys that Elder nelson and I baptized last Saturday! Then some pics on top of our church with the other elders in our apartment, Elder Soto and Elder Thompson. Then just some pics with my comp outside the church. I taught these elders how to make bracelets haha and Elder Nelson and I made matching Gabon ones lol. Then this morning!!! Elder Nelson and I went and hiked this mountain like an hr from our sector which was soooooo pretty the view was gorgeous!! We took some dope pics and then after that we went to this market and got jerseys and then fanny packs lol Then I bought this beautiful painting we saw on the side of the road after hiking up the mountain, we just walked up the road it wast a real hike lol but the painting is beautiful! anyways. Well that’s my week I love you all and have a killer week!!
It’s my last week in New Bell. This was a very difficult place to serve, but I completely fell in love with these people and this place. When I first got here I was scared to death. I didn’t know if I could stay here, but I did it! I made it through my first area. I learned so much about myself, my relationship with the Lord, the Atonement, and so much more. I love my mission so much! It’s changing me! I’m becoming a man who is devoted to the service of the Lord. I’m being transferred to Yaounde. I’m super excited! It’s going to be awesome! The pics are of me cutting my best buddy’s hair. We ate at an incredible Indian restaurant. And my the elders in the zone. I’ll miss them. We got way close. I’ll really miss my companion. He taught me so much! Then pictures of the entire branch. The last picture is of my new comp. Elder Nelson! The same Elder Nelson who is the brother of the Elder I came out with in the MTC!!! This week was great! We had zone conference, which are a ton of the pictures I took. The first picture is out a window at our district office here in New Bell where we had our zone conference. I walk that street everyday! Then our zone leaders drew a portrait of President Thompson, which was awesome. I helped Elder Angulau color in the designs haha Then some KILLER pizza we ate with the zone leaders. We’ve been with these guys so much this transfer haha its awesome, were so close! Then a couple pics this morning at this park. We had a zone activity and played some basketball than I took a picture by this pond/lake which was dope. I haven’t seen a pond in a long time haha but yeah thats pretty much everything, This week was great! I love you all so much and have a wonderful week!
So I buzzed my head, this is a terrible picture lol!! I’ll take more next week, but this was our breakfast the other day. I had the most incredible experience with the atonement and healing. I was super sick the past few weeks and I begged the Lord to use the power of the atonement to heal me because I knew that my Savior just didn’t atone so I could repent but also he could heal me of my illness. AND HE HAS!!! I am completely healed. It is a miracle. One that I will never forget. Well have an awesome week. Please pray that we start having more success. We are working super hard, but can’t get anyone to progress. Mostly coming to church is the most difficult. Pray they start coming.
6 mois!!! I didn’t take much pics this week cuz i was sick, but here are a few. I made some gravy thanks to my momma, then my comp and I made chocolate pancakes which were killer and then WE FOUND DORITOS! It was the first time my comp had them which was cool. Then I gave my zone leader a haircut! Not feeling too great right now, so please keep me in your prayers! I’m going to the hospital so I hope they find out what’s wrong with me. Also, please pray for Mathew that he keeps progressing and gets baptized.
Bonne Année! this last week was wonderful, the 31st my comp and i spent it with the district presidents and his family and we just partied it up! I taught everyone how to play uno which we played for like 5hrs haha and then this is my little buddy he’s my district presidents grandson. He wouldn’t leave my side haha and then the picture with mama pakis are on the 1st, she invited us over for lunch. We ate goat which kinda wrecked my stomach haha. Oh well and then after her house we went over to a members house and ate more food haha this is what a happy Elder LeBaron looks like after grubbing haha! It was a great week, then on the 3rd we went over to another members house and took a pic and then the next day we went to the chicken restaurant again lol with Elder Stauffer and his comp. Then a little pic of me outside of my branch and then the food I’ve been eating the last 4 days. I’m on the BRAT diet cuz i think I might have a parasite, which stinks. Then the last pic is me cutting up out chicken that we bought today! I love you all and have a wonderful week!!
Hope you had a great week being together. This Christmas season was really special because we really focused on serving the branch. We put a party together for the entire branch and I organized it completely. I also planned a dinner for the entire zone, which was super fun. We had so much fun! Well have an awesome week. Merry Christmas! It’s been such a great week! I’ve totally planned a Christmas party for our Branch. I also planned another dinner for the zone. It’s so funny because the zone leaders wouldn’t stop thanking me for doing this. I wasn’t about to let us have nothing planned for Christmas. It’s going to be so awesome! I’ll tell you all about it in a few days. At the Christmas party I danced with the young women. They thought I was the young greenie who doesn’t speak French very well. I danced with them and now they ALL absolutely love me. Everyone who attended the party came up and just slapped me five and kept yelling telling me how cool I am…it made me feel so good! Another great thing this week was getting my Christmas gift. This year my gift to myself is a suit my companion and I had made together. It’s so cool! See the pictures of it below. Today was so amazing! I got to go teach all these young African boys how to play American Football! I was one of the coolest experiences I’ve had on my mission so far! It was so much fun! The only problem is I got fried! Thank goodness one of the zone leaders had some cream that totally took the burn away. Well I’m so excited about this week is great because I get to talk to you on Monday and Wednesday!!! Super awesome! Well have a great week!
Hey everyone, I don’t have a lot of time this week because we’re preparing for our Christmas party. I’m doing a dance with the young women in the branch. Next week I’ll send you a video.
