Week 7 Tolosa

Letter to Mom…

Hola lo mejor madre en todo el mundo!

I’m sad to hear that the beginning of the week wasn’t too good! I am glad to hear you are getting better though. Being sick is the worst! Ive just been getting headaches and stuff, but it isn’t too bad. Im so glad to hear about those dreams you have. I would give anything to have some dreams like that haha. I was struggling a bit this week, but luckily I’ve been pretty busy so I haven’t had much time to think about home. I have been learning so much about all those principles like its crazy. Every week i learn something more about myself and the things that i need to do so i can find more people to teach and ways that i make my life more in line with the saviors. The mission is a crazy time thats for sure!!! You are pretty dang blessed to have such a great family haha. Like every one of my brothers adds something so awesome to our family dynamics. I cant wait to come back and see where they all have come! How cool that you had that opportunity with Tyler though. I feel you though about this week! It feels like it has gone on forever haha. I still cant believe that ive already been out for 3 months though?! Its nuts! And i turn 19 Thursday… Wait what?! haha. Well i love you so much and i hope this week is better for you! I pray for you every single day! Email me back so i can chat for a bit! Love ya!
¡Con amor!

Letter to Dad…

¡Mi mejor padre en todo el mundo!

¿Está aprendiendo mucho español o está esperando para estudiar cuando regreso de me misión? Haha How are things going?! This week was a pretty long one haha, but this next one is gonna be way better! Our investigator situation is kinda getting better, but we are working more with the ward and that is changing things! Like what I’ve learned here is there is never just one answer. We just have to try everything until something works. We are on track to have at least one baptism here this transfer, and we are hoping for two. If we can do that it will be the first baptism here in over a year. This area is really struggling right now, but just in the amount of time I’ve been here its grown soooo much! My comp and I are making things happen around here haha. We also got a new missionary here who is a total beast! He is super awesome. He is from Logan and his work ethic is super great. He is from a farm, so thats probably why lol. We are getting the work rolling out here thats for sure! As far as homesickness goes. I was kinda homesick the beginning of the week, but I’m totally good now. Things are keeping me distracted here haha. Thanks for the birthday wishes! It means a ton!!! I love you so much and I hope you have an awesome week!!! Tenga una buena semana papi!
¡Con amor!!!

Week 5 Tolosa – 5-2-16

Man one more week down here in Tolosa! I cant believe how fast the time is going! We are starting to get things moving around here which is awesome! We have gotten two more investigators this week, and we have high hopes of getting that number even higher next week!

This week was great cuz I was able to do some cool different things cuz I was on Intercambios for almost half the week it feels like! One was with the zone leaders and the other was with a missionary that was as new as me! That was an incredible feat because we both aren’t super comfortable with Spanish and all that, but the Holy Ghost is so real and so is the gift of tongues!

We had an awesome first lesson with Mirta which is one of our new investigators. Our lesson was when i was with elder Hill, the new elder that came in with me, and it was so awesome! The spirit was super strong and she was very interested. This week we have been working a lot more with the members and that is making a difference! We are starting with the relationship we have with the bishop, and that is making a difference! The guides we have as missionaries really helps us cuz it shows us what we should do in certain instances. I’m so glad that I have Elder Chandler as my trainer, because he helps me so much, and we are starting to be a really great team. In lessons we build off of each other, and he gives me chances to break out of my shell and share my testimony in Spanish, which is a real blessing because I am learning so much quicker because of that! A lot of the details from the week are in my recording thing, so if you are interested in all of that you can listen to it, but what I want all of you to get out of this email this week is that if you put your trust in the Lord and if you push forward with faith you can do anything. That is something that I have learned out here in many different experiences. I know that these things are true, and I know how much our message can change lives! I have seen it change mine, as well as countless others! If anyone has any doubt or feelings of hopelessness, this message will help you. I know this is true with all my heart and I cant wait to tell the world (Tolosa lol)!!! I love you all! Have a great week!!!

Week 4 in Tolosa 4-25-16

So this week was just awesome! I’ve had so many great experiences with contacts and with our investigator we have. The beginning of the week we had a cita with our investigator Nestor which was super awesome because he is super interested and he wants to learn more! We shared the message of the Restoration and he was super interested, but who wouldn’t be?! Its the single most important message in the whole world haha. I honestly think that if everyone really understood the magnitude of what our church has to offer more people would join, like the whole world honestly, the problem is that a lot of people don’t have time sadly. Well in our lesson we asked if he would want to be baptized and he said that he would obviously if he knew it was true first. Well that was awesome, and we actually have another cita with him tomorrow and this time we will have an awesome member of the barrio or ward with us, so that will be super awesome! Later in the week me and my companion got sick, so that wasn’t very fun, but we were able to bounce back quick and go out and keep looking for people. We are mostly just knocking doors and asking for references as well as visiting the members for referrals. Its tough work, but it is humbling as well. Like I’ve said before the problem is that people just “don’t have time” but i mean thats to be expected i guess. Later in the week we went to one of the referrals we had and she came out with the book of mormon in her hand, and she wanted to give it back, but we had an awesome time talking with her about what happens after we die and stuff like that, and it was so amazing to see the power of the holy ghost work through my companion and me and I was able to speak and understand most of what she was saying. It was a wonderful experience! The gift of tongues is so real!!! We also had a jewish guy ask us a bunch of pretty tough questions, but it was awesome cuz the same thing happened I was able to talk to him and understand what he was saying and answer pretty much all of his questions. This church is so amazing and the experiences ive had here just confirm that truth every day! The spirit can guide us whenever we need it, we just need to pray for his help. I love Argentina it is so amazing! I hope you all have an awesome week!

Second week in Tolosa 4-11-16

Hello everyone! So one more week down! which is pretty crazy! I cant believe how fast time just flies here!!! Im loving it more and more here! The people are so awesome! Its hard to get them to follow through with our citas or appointments because they are always “busy” but its okay because we are just spending our time taking to people on the street and what not. Its fun doing that because you can talk about some interesting things and you get a feel of the beliefs of other people. It is kinda funny because it almost seems like the people that talk with us the most and for the longest amount of time are the atheists haha. Well this week not much happened, but at the same time a ton happened. We had a baptism in another area which was fun and we did intercombios a lot, which are exchanges. It was fun to do that because I was able to see how other missionaries do things. I’m really starting to feel more comfortable here, but I still need a bit more time to really get the language. Im learning so much every day, and I’m understanding a little more each day as well. I cant wait till I can just speak easily with people, but oh well its kinda fun learning the language. When people say that they speak costellano here and not Spanish its true, because their accents are super different than like in Mexico and all that. They really have more of an Italian sound to their voice which is kinda cool, but just a little harder to understand. Well I don’t have a ton of time left, but today i had a zone activity and thats where my pictures come from. I love ya all and i hope you are all doing great!!!!

First Week in Tolosa – 04-04-16

Hello all!!! I don’t have that much time here, but ill make it quick and I’m going to try to include an audio recording thing that will go into a little more detail. the beginning of the week we had a bunch of meetings, so thats all a blur haha, but then later in the week like i think it was Friday we went to Quilmez for an orientation thing, and that was super cool because it was raining way bad so i got all soaked in my suit… well I wore my nicer shoes, but the ended up giving me blisters, so that was a pain, but as much as I should have been upset at all this stuff I was actually super happy! I was finally living the life of a missionary! I have had so many amazing experiences and the people are so amazing! The Lord will give you strength when you need it and the Holy Ghost can help you so much when you are in a situation where you need his help, all you have to do is ask. I loved conference this week! for those of you that missed it you have to go back and read it because there was so much information that was so inspired for the world we live in. Im so happy to be here and I cant wait to hear from all you next week. sorry I didn’t have more time this week. hopefully the tape has enough info haha. Ill get better in the coming weeks with all this… Well I love you all so much!!!
¡Nos vemos!
