August 29, 2020 South Jordan, Utah (Week 3)
I’m sorry I haven’t been making very many emails the last few weeks. Can you believe it’s been 3.5 weeks??? There really isn’t much to talk about in the life of Elder LeBaron haha. I am loving the MTC and I love my district, companion, and teachers!! I have had lots of learning opportunities both with korean and gospel haha. I got a reassignment to Fort Worth Texas and I leave October 20th so that is very exciting!! Everyone in my district has been reassigned, so we’ll see how long it takes to end up in korea haha. I am excited to serve wherever the lord sends me whether it’s Korea, Fort Worth, or wherever I’m ready to serve!!
A good scripture I just read is Ether 12:6 and it says “And now, I, Moroni, would speak somewhat concerning these things; I would show unto the world that faith is things which are hoped for and not seen; wherefore, dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith.” I really like this because I don’t know about you but my answers always come after my faith has been tried. I feel like god wants to make sure we have faith and we are committed to him before he will give us answers to our prayers sometimes. I like to use these experiences as building points in my testimony. As long as we just hold to that rod and trust in the lord he will bless us and provide an answer or a way. I love you all and hope you have had an amazing month of August so far!!
Pictures1) Right after they dropped in the pool!!2) The huge hole in our backyard before they 3-4) I did some awesome chalk art 5) These are some awesome shoes I painted for Elder Ben LeBaron before he left to New Jersey.

August 16, 2020 South Jordan, Utah (136 Days Home)
Wow! Elder LeBaron has been home for 136 days and is about to leave for Morristown, NJ to finish his last 10 months as a missionary. So much has happened since February 10th our last post. Elder LeBaron spent the couple of weeks with Elder Nelson. He absolutely loved him and he has become a close friend. On March 19th Elder Illunga became his companion and he was with him for a week and then COVID-19 happened and Elder Illunga was immediately transferred to Douala and Elder Summers became his comp for the next couple of weeks while they tried to get out of Cameroon. This was a very crazy time because he didn’t know if he would be able to come home after the announcement that ALL missionaries around the world would be sent home due to the pandemic. The federal government got involved and Senator Romney helped the church get a charter plane to get him out. It took ten days and every day was a roller coaster with spending the night at the airport and going back home because the airplane didn’t arrive. They went to the airport three times and finally on the third try ten days later they got out! They would first fly to Ethiopia, next to Dublin, then to DC, then Detroit, and finally arrived 30 hours later to Salt Lake City, UT.
The amazing part of this journey is that they had multiple baptisms and many opportunities to teach. It took many prayers, fasting, and faith to get him out. I say get him out because life was starting to get really scary for the missionaries. Many would yell at them in the streets thinking they were Chinese and brought this sickness to their country. Also they feared for their lives at times because the mobs would chase them, rocks thrown at them, and they ran for their lives to be safe. It was very scary. We thank the Lord that guardian angels were sent to protect them all and he arrived home to Salt Lake City, Utah on March 29, 2020. Again, he leaves Wednesday for Morristown, NJ, where he will most likely finish his mission for the next 10 months. I hope you enjoy these final pictures from Cameroon.

August 15, 2020 South Jordan, UT (Week 1)
Hey guys!!! This week has been amazing! I love my companion, my district, and my teachers!!! I’ll kinda give you the schedule. I wake up at 6:30 get ready, do comp study, personal study, and language study, i usually finish around 10:30-11:00 and then I do whatever I need to do until 1:30 I have a class and it goes to 4:30, then I have a class from 6:15-9:15, and then I get ready for bed and go to bed. The language is really hard! I’m trying really hard to memorize things but it’s just not sticking to my brain haha. My companion is from Layton Utah and we are already best buds haha. Things are going well! I’ve had some amazing spiritual experiences too that have helped me get through the hard times. I love you all so much!! Thank you for the love and support!
Sunday was super chill, I just kinda spent time with my family and did come follow me. Monday and Tuesday were kinda like every other day. Also the first person in my district got reassigned, so I’ll probably get reassigned sometime next week or so. I had my first 2 TRC which is just teaching people the gospel. The first couple are in english and the rest will be in korean soo im kinda nervous about them but it’ll be ok haha. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday were all just like normal days, I had some answers to my prayers, and felt the spirit strongly. I love my district and my comp. That’s about all haha but things are going really good
This has kinda been my district’s scripture the first week and we’ve had lots of spiritual experiences with it. Ether 12:27 “And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.”

February 17-March 29, 2020 Nsam, Cameroon (Week 2-6)
How has it been 5 weeks already? These last couple weeks have been incredible. We had five of our investigators baptised, two of them english speakers so I had to translate for them which was so amazing. We had to fill the baptismal font up with buckets because the water to the church turned off haha it was an experience for sure, but just like always the Lord helps you! Many members came to help us fill the font and after about an hour and a half, we got the font filled up high enough so we could kneel down to baptise them. This baptism was so beautiful and what was also so amazing is these investigators helped us fill the font where they would then be baptised, it was so cool and the spirit was so strong through this whole thing! We had zone conference which was wonderful! It’s always good to get together with all the elders and our mission President. Elder Nelson and I are having so much fun serving together, we absolutely love these people here in Nsam! I got my first package from home which was so awesome! it was nice to get some things from my family! Ive been rocking only one pair of shoes these last couple months because my last ones broke so it was nice to receive another pair in the package! Life is amazing here in Cameroun, I absolutely love these people! my french keeps getting better and better each day thanks to my Father in Heaven! I know without a doubt if you ask God for help he will always be there to help! I love you all, thank you for all your prayers!

February 3, 2020 New Bell, Cameroon (Week 24)
Well family,
It’s my last week in New Bell. This was a very difficult place to serve, but I completely fell in love with these people and this place. When I first got here I was scared to death. I didn’t know if I could stay here, but I did it! I made it through my first area. I learned so much about myself, my relationship with the Lord, the Atonement, and so much more. I love my mission so much! It’s changing me! I’m becoming a man who is devoted to the service of the Lord. I’m being transferred to Yaounde. I’m super excited! It’s going to be awesome! The pics are of me cutting my best buddy’s hair. We ate at an incredible Indian restaurant. And my the elders in the zone. I’ll miss them. We got way close. I’ll really miss my companion. He taught me so much! Then pictures of the entire branch. The last picture is of my new comp. Elder Nelson! The same Elder Nelson who is the brother of the Elder I came out with in the MTC!!! I’m so excited to be serving with him!!!! I love you all. Have a great week!
Love,
Elder LeBaron
