What a crazy last couple weeks! Here are a bunch of pics, I’m so busy and having an absolute blast out here! Heavenly Father is so amazin and it’s been so incredible to see his hand in every detail! Santa drove by on a fire truck hahaha I was dying of laughter! Then we had district p day last week which was fun! It then dumped snow here! Zone Conference has been moved to Tuesday. I then did a bunch of virtual exchanges with some elders in my zone which have been so awesome! I have such awesome elders in my zone! Anyways that’s pretty much it! I love you all and Merry Christmas!❤️🎄
Hey everyone! I don’t have too many pics this week. We started our countdown to Christmas! So legit this is my last Christmas! It was also sinter klaus day and so I got to open my little gifts from home! Then we ate killer cheese cake at Alexis Diner! So good! Elder Fowler is leaving us and I’ll be getting a new companion, Elder Bargeron! That’s about it! I love you all, im so busy and doing wonderful! God is so good and what a wonderful season to celebrate our Saviors birth! I hope you are all lighting the world with me! If not, go check out comeuntochrist.org to see how you can serve others this Christmas season! Beaucoup d’amour mes amis! Oh also I got a Pic with Joseph, one of our friends we’re teaching and helping him with Toys for Tots! We just ate at the Millburn delli again! So. Killer. We are coming back here!
This week was pretty good! It was more of a slower week but it went by fast if that makes any sense haha. I hope y’all are doing well and everything is amazing! I’m so happy it’s already Christmas time!!! Make the most of the Christmas season and participate in Light The World!! I hope you like this email haha. I also hope it makes some kind of sense to someone haha.
As it comes to the end of the year try not to wish it away. Enjoy what you have each day. It’s hard to do that sometimes, haha believe me I know. I’ve been through some crazy stuff in my life that has helped me realize “afflictions shall be but a small moment” You read that in D&C 121:7, but there’s more than that. “And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes.” D&C 121:8 we learn in the next verse that if we are patient and just endure, we can be tremendously blessed.
This year has been rough for lots of people. Believe me, I didn’t think this is what my mission was going to be like AT ALL haha, but it doesn’t matter what we thought was going to happen. God knew this would happen. This is all still God’s plan. Sometimes we forget that.
Sometimes we get some crazy storms thrown our way haha. These “storms” we have sometimes can be a little wild haha, but a quote by Mark E. Petersen in April 1971 conference was ” Who can control such awesome forces? Who is the God of nature? Who stood in a storm-tossed boat with a group of frightened fishermen and rebuked the storm by simply saying “Peace be still,” and the wind abated, and there came a great calm?” The answer to all of these questions is Jesus Christ. Because of Jesus Christ, we can have peace. He can call our storms by simply saying three words. Peace be still. Those three words are very peaceful. Makes me feel at least a little more hope haha.
I hope this is all making sense so far haha. No matter what I say doesn’t matter. The spirit is the teacher and if you learned something reading this that came from the spirit. Having the company of the spirit is so amazing. I’ve never known the importance of the spirit until I had to completely rely on him.
I love each one of you!! You all are children of our Father in Heaven. He loves you more than you can even imagine. Keep up the good work! Talk to you soon!! Oh and I got a new comp and transferred to the media zone. My comp’s name is Elder Carter.
HELLO EVERYONE!!!!I hope y’all have had an amazing week!! I also hope you had time to pause and take a second to think about everything you are grateful for!! This week was amazing for me because I was able to spend a ton of time thinking about everything that I am grateful for!!
During the holiday season keep up the gratitude! you’ll be amazed at how much your perspective on everything will change! Focus on what really matters! It is so hard to focus on the things that matter, especially right now. Also, remember to focus on the real meaning of Christmas and participate in Light The World!! So many people have worked hard putting that together. Try it out for one week and you will see a difference in how you feel I promise!!
There are two christlike attributes that I have been working on and I want to invite y’all to work on them with me!! It is PATIENCE and HUMILITY. They are the two hardest to perfect if you ask me, haha but I also think they are the best christlike attributes.
Preach My Gospel gives a definition of patience and humility and I really like how they put them.
Patience: The capacity to endure delay, trouble, opposition, or suffering without becoming angry, frustrated, or anxious.
Humility: Willingness to submit to the will of the lord and to give the lord the honor for what is accomplished.
The problem we have with patience is that we want things in our timing, but it’s not “our timing” It’s actually the Lord’s timing. Everything is moving faster and faster in this world, but the one thing that isn’t is God’s timing. We need to remember that. As things feel like they are just moving too fast or moving too slow just remember they aren’t. What I mean by that is time is the same. We have no control no matter what we may think or feel haha. It’s a hard concept for some including me, but timing won’t change, so just endure. That makes me think of another quote. “In all of living have much fun and laughter, life is meant to be ENJOYED not just endured.” -Gordon B. Hinckley. So when people say to endure something we think of chugging along, buttttttt what we need to do is skip along!!! Just be happy with whatever happens!
Humility is, I think, to make God more of himself. Now what I mean by that is give God all of the credit because he deserves all of the credit. Everything we have is from our Heavenly Father. Humility is not a sign of weakness. It is actually a sign of spiritual strength. It makes you confident that you can do anything the Lord asks you to do. It will also help you be obedient, work hard, and be less selfish.
I hope all of this isn’t just me rambling and at least makes some kind of sense haha. I love y’all so very much!!! This week I wanted to try something different and focus on something spiritual instead of telling y’all about the boring day-to-day things I’m doing haha. I am doing amazing and working hard in the technology zone! I hope y’all have an amazing week!! I love y’all!! Elder LeBaron
Happy late Thanksgiving!! What a killer week! I hope you all ate as much as us! We’re sick of eating Thanksgiving food haha we’ve been eating it for basically every meal for the last 4 days🤣 this week was so fun though! Here are a couple pics of us on Thanksgiving! I made a bunch of sandwiches for my ZLs after I cut their hair and then we went to go pick up some food from a member who lived next to our old house we built 15 years ago! So cool to see our old house! Then I broke my finger im like 90% positive the other day playing football w my comps, I wants paying attention à d the ball just destroyed my left ring finger so I got a little buddy cast on now haha after wearing this garbage one for the past 3 days haha! I also got a little package from home! I love America! But that’s about it! I love you all and have a wonderful week! Thanks for all the prayers in my behalf! I love you all! Oh and Elder Brandt moved his bed by us so he wasn’t in the corner alone haha
Hey, y’all!!! I hope y’all are doing well!!! This week has gone by so fast! Crazy how time works sometimes haha. Hope you enjoy my boring week as a missionary haha Monday I went to a thrift store and then we went to Cains which is the best chicken in the world. then we played some basketball and volleyball at the church and then just chilled. Nothing too crazy. Tuesday we went to Walmart to get some things, watched some videos to prepare for Elder Teh’s online tour of our mission. He is the area authority. Then Elder Dorny (my zone leader) and I went to a thrift shop to find a grill and all we found was a panini press and he bought it and we tried to grill hamburgers on it and…. yeah took a while but it worked hahahaha definitely a highlight of the week. Wednesday we had a devotional with Elder Teh. It was really good and I really like him. Then I had a Korean tutor which was awesome. Then had dinner at this family’s house, the Williams. Then we went to get ice-cream at this custard place called Andy’s. Thursday we had another devotional with Elder Teh which was also really good. then we went to the church and worked on a lot of things there on the computers and then came home. All the elders in the tech zone came over and we just talked about film cameras too which was fun! I could talk about them all day haha. Friday was a super cool day! We woke up and went straight to the cowboy’s stadium and did a huge service project in the parking lot for thanksgiving and we fed over 6,700 families and it was like 100,000 Ibs of food or something crazy like that which was crazy!! While we were doing that we listened to the prophet talk to us and it was the coolest thing to be helping all of these people while listening to the prophet speak to us! Then we had a zone meeting and did some more planning for projects coming up like Light The World and stuff. Saturday we went up to Denton to film a video and it was super cool and it was in a little garden/farm and it was just a service video for Light The World. Then we filmed something else at the church which was good, hopefully it’ll turn out haha. Then on the way home, we drove through the city Justin which was sick and we stopped at the Buc-ee’s on the way home and I got a ton of merch which is sick. I got a cool hat and hoodie which I really like, plus it was pretty cheap so I’m happy about that haha. Sunday we went to church and did some church stuff I honestly can’t remember what I did yesterday haha then we had some elders over and we watched the Chosen again which was soooooooooo good and I recommend y’all to watch it! You’ll be hooked I promise haha. Thank you for all the love and support!!! Hopefully this wasn’t too long! I love y’all and hope y’all have an awesome week!!!! Elder LeBaron
What another awesome week! Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I’m so grateful for all of you!!! We got some dope matching PJs for Christmas haha here’s our little buddy Christmas tree haha! We helped do a little service which was awesome! And then I had this killer burrito at some restaurant like café Rio but that’s pretty much it, Thank you for all of your prayers in my behalf! I love you all! Also a member just paid for all of us to get haircuts! I love these members! They’re so thoughtful out here!
Hey y’all!!! Life is pretty crazy over here haha. Actually its really not but oh well haha. So sunday we found out I was being transferred which was crazy news because I was only in that area for 3 weeks haha but now I’m in the tech zone and I absolutely love it!! Monday was just a chill day and I talked to fam pretty much all day. We had a bbq with the zone because it was the last pday of the transfer and it was also my comps bday. We played football and ultimate frisbee at a park and then went to the church and said our goodbyes and stuff. Tuesday we got the new guy who was going to replace me and we just pretty much got him settled in all day. We also went to dinner with a lady who was from korea and her husband served in korea and they took us to korean food and it was soooooo good! Wednesday was Elder Benjamin LeBaron’s birthday and I wished him a happy birthday and he said it was a good birthday which was soooooo awesome! We also had transfers and I met the zone and I love it here!! It’s just the best I love it! Thursday I honestly forgot what we did but we were probably busy doing tech stuff. Did some meetings for projects coming up and yeah Friday we went to lunch with one of my dads reps and it was so awesome! Best salmon I’ve ever had In my entire life!! Saturday we did lots of work and I also forgot what we did. Probably something sick idek. Sunday we went to church and then we did some more adobe work and studies and then we had dinner at this lady’s house and it was the best food ever like wow it was good. Then we had a pday eve and some elders came over and we watched the chosen which is the freaking greatest show! I definitely recommend watching it because the way they portrayed jesus was pretty amazing and it is just way awesome! Well that’s my week for yall haha hope yall have a amazing week!! Remember to always remember christ and do your best, that’s all we are asked!! 사랑해요!! Elder LeBaron
Hey everyone!! Thank you all so much for the wonderful birthday wishes and gifts! This week was so wonderful! I took a couple pictures of my wonderful presents! Thank you!!! The cutest members ever, the Magdalanys made me dinner and a cake for my birthday! She is so cute! They sang to me when I got to the door! She also got me these little Mario slippers haha it was so funny! She was like, “I hope you like my goofy gift” so cute! Then I had interviews with my mission president which was awesome! That’s why I was in my suit! (this was all on my birthday) and then we got some pizza for lunch which was killer! We also went to Alexis Diner again which is so good!! Then today haha I found not only a unicorn pin for my crocs but this massive unicorn stuffed animal haha gotta represent! And then my son got a pair of crocs too! I love my comps and it’s been so awesome training! Many of you have heard some missionaries are going back to Africa, but I feel God needs me to finish serving here in NY/NJ and so this is what I’m going to do! I feel so much peace knowing that God is in control and I truly feel this is where he needs me for the next 5 1/2 months! I love you all and thank you again for the wonderful wishes! This was the best last birthday on the mission! Oh and those massive apartments are for the Jewish community here! There are tons of these huge communities in our mission!
Wow this week was a little crazy! We have someone who’s committed to baptism which is amazing and I’m also being moved to the tech zone which is also kinda crazy and kinda expected and kinda not expected because I’ve only been here for 3 weeks haha! Monday we went to the stockyards for pday. The stockyards are pretty much an old western town and there are tons of cowboy markets and stuff which was way fun! I also destroyed my brand new hoodie on accident with some candle wax which sucked but its ok we got it out with a magical bar of soap called Zote haha. Its a pink magical bar of heaven. We got it at Walmart, so you can probably find it at Walmart haha. It will legit get anything out of your clothes and any stain. Tuesday we went to the church for a district council and then we went to a Mexican restaurant called Rosa’s and got bible bashed which was super funny haha. There were 7 elders against one random guy and he ended up leaving but it went nowhere lol. Wednesday we played pickle ball and then went to the food bank and did service for about 4 hours and then we called some people and texted some people and chilled at the apartment because president wanted us to stay in because the election was a mess haha Thursday we did service again and boxed like 20+ crates filled with thanksgiving boxes at the food bank which was pretty awesome. There were like 30 or 40 boxes per crate or something like that. I don’t know exactly all I know is it was a lot haha. Then we did some facebook work, cooked some chicken, and then dinner at my bishops house. Friday we finally got our butts out of bed to go on a run haha! It was only like a mile run but it was still better than nothing. Then we went to dinner with this super cool family and then talked to a guy on zoom and did a study with him. He’s from LA so it was cool. Saturday we dug up some grass for a member and he took us to lunch at whataburger which is a pretty good fast food burger place. Then we went to a baptism. It was the bishops son being baptized and it was super spiritual. Then we went over to this sisters house and she is less active and has 3 kids and then just got 2 more kids because they were taken out of their homes. She’s a single mom and it was really sad to see the whole situation, but we are getting her some help. Her son wants to be baptized too which is awesome! He’s 11 and I think its the key to getting them back to church. Sunday we went to church and people canceled on us, so I took a power nap which was amazing. Then we went to dinner at a less active members house, but he’s been coming every Sunday which is awesome! Then after that we went home and Jacob the guy we’ve been working with for so long texted us and asked if we had any food we could bring him because he is struggling with money this month and so it was the perfect excuse to finally come over. We talked to him for a while and we talked about Jesus christ’s baptism and we asked him if he wanted to ever be baptized in our church and he paused for about 2 mins and said well I’ve been baptized before and we told him about proper authority and then he paused again for about 2 mins and said what would I have to do and so we told him he can’t smoke, vape, drink coffee or tea, sleep with girls, and all of those things he does so he was like ok ok haha. But he said yes he wants to be baptized and it was the most incredible thing that has happened since i’ve been on my mission!! We gave him a blessing and we took his cigarettes from him and crushed them out back and tossed them in the trash and it was just an incredible experience!! Then after we got home and changed we get the transfer doc and it says I’m moving to the tech zone and my comp’s training a new guy and we were like what the heck!!! So now I’m being transferred after being here for only 3 weeks haha Sunday was just a crazy day haha! I love y’all soooo much and can’t wait to see other miracles happen later on! I hope y’all have an incredible week and remember the savior! Elder LeBaron
